profile contact methods

pref above the site usernames so it fits in line with skype/icq etc

There’s a thread about it in the mod forum now. I’d go do it myself but I don’t know how or if i’m allowed to.

not an former mod but from my understanding

 

it's under the members tab > custom profile fields link > there should then be an add field icon

in fairness my ipb understanding is about 2 + versions out of date but give that a go

I remember the last time these thingies were brought up I said something along the lines of just making them all generic so nobody has to mess with the contact methods every time a new one becomes popular/an old one dies. Any idea on if this can be done?

I dunno if this is aimed at me or not but older versions of IBP did have all of the contact fields completely customizable (i.e. you could add/remove as you saw fit) whether our current version does is a different matter entirely...

I’m terrible with instructions but it doesn’t look like i’m able to do it this way. Maybe I need super permissions? Idk

I doubt it, it's fairly low level, can you search for "contact" or something to that degree or "profile fields" idk, I'm probably giving you bad instructions based on my older knowledge.

 

just try and find a "profile fields" section, it will likely be under there

Perhaps i’m just stupid but I can’t find a way to universally edit profiles at all. Admin cp is confusing.

Our admin cp doesn’t seem to have a profiles tab.

Well if you can't add it, maybe you can replace it with AIM (since AIM will be discontinued on December 15).

 

Sakura replaced DN with DB before, so he knows how to do it.

It is.  And we have no way to update it as far as I know.

It has definitely been updated in the past, so it seems weird to me that you guys suddenly can't do it? Perhaps Sakura can have a look as perhaps it's a super related permission?

Yeah, modifying anything to do with profile permissions is restricted to Supers. Aix was able to do it because he got special privileges.

Let's not forget to remove anything that people don't necessarily use anymore, such as ICQ and all that sheet.

Might as well add my backup Discord name too, though I don't particularly use it too much except for lurking purposes.
