VerdantSanctuary-CRMS-EN-C-1E.png

When a face-up Insect-Type monster is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, its controller can add 1 Insect-Type monster with the same Level as the destroyed monster from their Deck to their hand.

Context: Inzektors

Pros:

Not OPT

It can get another copy of the same monster

Doesn't have to be by battle or opponent's card effect

@3

Cons:

Can miss timing

Both players can use it

Hornet- Dragonfly-Centipede (3's)

Ultimately Mutated Insect Queen - Kumongus (Kaiju) (7's)

Parasite Paranoid - Maxx "C" - Ladybug (2's)

Being able to search anything from the monster in the game in Maxx "C" to a Kaiju is pretty cool, but Insects including Inzektors and Krawlers aren't particularly comfortable destroying themselves, and would generally have to go out of their way to do so without the opponent doing it for them. True Draco insects could be interesting what with this being a Continuous Spell and Diagram popping your bugs. Level Eater is also an insect, and there're turbo builds involving Resonance Insect and Doom Dozer to spam Level Eater and Links, but I don't think this card's involved there much.

Definitely a card to keep an eye on though as new bug archetypes come out.

Wouldn't you rather use your Hornet to destroy your own Zektcalibur to search instead of reducing your field presence? Or is Zektcalibur not used anymore? Been a while since Inzektors have been relevant to me tbh.

It depends, the decks not viable in TCG with 1 Hornet and Fly, but if you have triple of each like OCG, you can often get back the advantage you lose from field presence

Hornet?

It can do it, but not comfortably. If you destroy a Centipede/Dragonfly that Hornet was equipped to, you don't get their effect when an Equip card equipped to them is sent to the Graveyard, so you're losing a couple cards, field presence, and probably a Normal Summon for a search off Verdant Sanctuary.

There's always crashing a string of Howling Insects and Flying Kamikiri #1's for searches, but that's pretty easily disrupted.

Ok so Dragonfly has a OPT right, so one use and it's dead. You can burn it at that point.

Though searching Maxx is honestly your prio
