My time here has opened my eyes far more than they ever would have back home. Despite the harrowing experiences that came with it, I have found that I honestly enjoyed my time here. Before I came here, I admittedly was more focused on my projects than anything else, almost to the point of excluding all else from my thoughts. But now, after all the times Herida has tried to get me to be a better Immortal, it took my stay here to remember what it really means to bear the responsibility Immortality brings us.

 

I guess I really do have a metaphorically-thick skull if it took such an extreme to get through to me.

 

Shu Shirakawa, Chaotic Angel, Tesability Black. When everyone else seemed willing to just let me fade, you three were willing to put Faith into me and keep me bound to this world when my own adepts were not enough. I thank you whole-heartedly for it, and I do not say as much often or lightly.

 

Shu, if you manage to find your way to Aelion, find your way to Aelinar, then ask for the Research Center. I certainly would not mind seeing you again after I return home. If you manage to bring fresh sushi, even better.

If I return, I will have to be far more prepared than I was this time. Now that I am aware of the natural hostility of this place, I can be better protected against it through various measures. I do know that I am not going to hear the end of having such an close encounter to fading from existence from Ianna.

 

Trust me, I really would rather lose my head to a Menar biting it off several times over pissing her off...

Flavius facepalms himself upon realizing that it had been missing the whole time without his notice.

 

I would have had not only Ianna, but Metarchus on my case for losing that, and that old goat gets creative when he wants to. It is one thing to choose to not wear it, but to lose it...?
