I figure we should discuss Fire Emblem Warriors for Nintendo Switch here rather than flood the Switch thread with discussion on it. So, Fire Emblem Warriors. A great game that will come out sometime this year when the Switch comes out. We don't know what kind of story it might entail. It's not like Marth can get help from Ike, Lyn, Chrom, Ryoma and Xander for help against a new more powerful Gharnef. So, any villains you want to see?

The conversations and supports between these guys can be hilarious like maybe Mist would want to be stacked like Camilla or maybe a duel of Lucia vs. Ryoma, or

Now mechanics. We're all familiar with Hyrule Warrior's crafting system. Will it be implemented here? If so, will we get new weapons, new items, will we have health restore items pop up when we cut grass? What will the health bar be like? Can we expand it? Can we craft badges from broken spears and swords and torn tomes? etc. How can Supports work? Will there be Ballista units? Things like that?

 

I like Fire Emblem. Heck, I beat Blazing Sword, Sacred Stones, Path of Radiance 3 times (One Easy playthrough, one where I got Ena the other Nasir, third time was on Normal for Boost on Sothe), started Fates Conquest, On part 4 of Radiant Dawn and want to start Shadow Dragon and Birthright. I hope sales of this game pick up well. Also, English voice cast, otherwise I will mute voices.

 

Edit, with the remake of Gaiden, why not add characters from there?

I'm not sure how popular of a decision it was for Fates, but I hope that Owain/Odin, Inigo/Laslow, and Severa/Selena are in this game, because I love that trio so much. It'd also be nice to have them interact with Lucina again, since the four of them were the most popular children in Awakening. Speaking of, maybe they can follow from that and use characters from the Festivals of Bonds? I'm sure they'll have every member of both royal families, but they could also include Subaki, Oboro, and Setsuna for the first generation, and Ophelia, Midori, Shigure, Forrest, Nina, and Dwyer for the second generation.

 

Though they could also use some of the lords from other games, especially ones that were in Awakening. I'd love to see Eirika and Ephraim again, but Awakening was the first "introduction" to some of the other lords, like Sigurd, Seliph, or Lief. They could also potentially follow some of the Awakening redesigns, since most of the DLC lords were given different classes. Following with those classes might help distinguish their play styles.

 

As for the crafting system, maybe the game could take inspiration from both Hyrule Warriors and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE? That way it could blend aspects of its predecessors together.

That is a good call on Ephraim and Eirika. Also I forgot to put in an axe wielder to round out the weapon triangle. Oh wait, I thought I did when I added Camilla, but there could be other axe... Oh yeah, I included Hector and he wields axes. So, that about rounds it out, we have the physical weapon triangle of Swords, Spears, Axes along with Knife and Bow users and we have both magical trinities. The element system will probably leave out the water/ice element in favor of the trinity of Fire, Lightning and Wind, the sub-trinity of Anima, Dark and Light.

 

Also, bosses, if the boss is strong to a weapon it will do less damage but being weak means it will do more. Zephiel, for example, uses swords so he would be strong against an Axe wielder but weak against a spear wielder.

I'm hoping for Ike, the Black Knight (Zelgius costume optional), and Seth, beyond who we know are already probably in it from the teaser. I hope we get a lot of info in the upcoming Direct.

 

EDIT: Walhart, too. We need his hamminess. Ashnard would be totally badass, too.

Also, Costumes would be nice. How about Camilla in her Swim-*Bash*

 

Forget swimsuit dlc. And thar be maps, I just hope the developers learn about keeping difficulty spikes consistent, meaning if we want gold emblems they should ease us in. I'm looking at you Hyrule Warriors Twilight Princess map.

 

The maps should consist of the woulds of Shadow Dragon, Fates, Tellius, Lyn's world, Eirika's world, Awakening, and Echoes at a later date.

 

There should be DLC for training units, getting cash, promotion to make them stronger, etc.

 

Fall 2017 is the release date. Expect a September, October or November release date. This could give them time to put together

It'll be really interesting to see mounted units in this. I don't know if the main Dynasty Warriors have mounted characters, but since Hyrule Warriors had Epona for Link, there shouldn't be an issue having the horse riders. But beyond that I want to see wyvern/pegasus/griffon riders. Laguz/Taguel/Manaketes would be awesome to play as, too.

I did have Lyre, Lethe, Naesala, and Tibarn on my hopeful candidates list. Though how could combos with bird types work? Maybe they enter unarmed until their special gauge fills up, then they can unleash the beast.

As for roster, aside from the mains we have as playable characters:

It’s possible that characters from other games could appear, but players should expect the vast majority to be a mix of very recent faces, and the collaborators confirmed that there will be a diverse list of characters in the game, in terms of abilities.

I hope so. I mean other dynasty warriors games had huge casts. And Shadows of Valentia was just released, so why not add some characters from that for good measure.

They generally only bring ones for the main/title characters, they're not that... owait they're releasong two Corrins gdi

From Hyrule Warriors we see how Cavalier warriors work, but what abbout armored units? They'll naturally be slow but tanky.

Bruh, Alphonse and Sharena are literally the only FE protags that HAVEN'T lost at least one parent. FE's been killing off parents like Disney since the beginning

 

FE1/3 - Marth - Both parents dead

FE 2 - Alm - Dead Dad and who knows what happened to his mom, but she's probably dead

          Celica - Both parents dead

FE 4 - ... do I even need to say anything here

FE 5 - see above

FE 6 - Roy - mom is PROBABLY dead, but maybe not I don't think they ever say for sure

FE 7 - Eliwood - Dead Dad

FE 8 - Ephraim and Eirika - Dead Dad and their mom is probably dead

FE 9/10 Ike - Both parents dead

FE 13 Chrom - Both parents dead

FE 14 Corrin - Both parents dead

I'm assuming they're just slowly revealing the roster, most games like this do the same thing. Show a small portion of the roster at the beginning and then expand it with more announcements to make the game more hype up to release dates, so I'm sure we'll be hearing more about it soon

I made a comment on the trailer video. Maybe the other royal kids will appear.

 

Like for instance:

 

Axes:

 

???: "Corrin, you wouldn't leave us out would you?"

 

And the cast sees Camilla, along with Barst, Vaike and Rinkah.

 

First we see Camilla riding her dragon mowing down troops with her Axe.

 

Camilla: "Naughty boys need to be punished."

 

Vaike is introduced and he mows down the enemies.

 

Vaike: "Don't mess with the Vaike."

 

Barst is next with him yelling "TIMBER!" as he cuts down troops.

 

Finally there is Rinkah, who could oddly perform Volga's move set. She is from the fire tribe.

 

Rinkah: "Prepare to get burned."

 

For another promo, there will be spear wielders.

suddenly, Hinoka appears along with Sumia, Caeda and Effie.

 

Kinda wonder if we can use the overbroken Triangle Attack.

Being an armored unit Effie would naturally be slow on the battlefield, but she can take hits as well as dish them out.
