Flash Flyer - Sakura
Another example of what we'd all like to hear about law enforcement doing, instead of the other stuff they're attributed to nowadays that gets more attention. But yeah, hopefully this kid makes good use of that membership and does make it into the NBA. I'd ask if they could've worked out a payment plan to pay monthly or something [kid and his mother] so the kid wouldn't have to be doing this, but IDK if that's possible, as I don't go to the gym. Article doesn't mention what kind of membership he had. At the same time, least he respects police officers now because of this.
Dad
Apparently, because the gym owners were so moved by this officer's efforts to help this young man, they're going to use the 150$ that was put up for a two year membership for the kid, which the rest will be covered by the owners. Tentacruel
This is great, but I think it's worth noting that it isn't really a policeman's job to pay for stuff for people. Now, yes, they need to stop funking shooting people at traffic stops, but these are sort of unrelated issues. This guy does a good thing, by being generous with his own money, that doesn't really stop some other cop from doing bad things. So from a purely human standpoint, this guy is great, and it's what we should all aspire to, but it doesn't really have anything to do with all of the cop issues. But I thought it was a kind, uplifting post that some people would appreciate with all the distress and fear that's happening right now. Especially when it comes to police officers. I've been stopped a number of times over the past month and I can't tell you how scared I was. I needed this.
