Blake
You can discard 1 card; add 1 "Vendread" monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Vendread Nights" once per turn. [When/If] a "Vendread" monster you control destroy an opponent's monster by battle, you can banish 1 "Vendread" monster from your Graveyard; that "Vendread" monster can make a second attack in a row on an opponent's monster. ~ P O L A R I S ~
This card could've been so much better without the word "monster". "add 1 "Vendread" monster""a second attack in a row on an opponent's monster". The latter part of that clause is always a little disappointing. Nevertheless, a solid card for the archetype - the discard is annoying but can also be a discard outlet to get your GY-activations in the GY, or a "Vendread" for this card's double-attack on monsters effect. Eshai
Now, this is pretty bad. Not getting the search immediately is fine, but they have to twist the knife by making the discard a cost which is just asking for the MST negate. I would've just wanted Dragon Ravine for Vendread or just DARK Zombies with 0 DEF but have it Tribute the cards in hand instead of discarding them and then allow it to search the Ritual Spell. That was all they had to do to make the archetype at least viable without a million generic Zombie cards by noooo. Love the artwork of these, but I really want them to be more interesting than just what you would give Zombies if you gave them Rituals.

That's exactly what I want, but each to their own.

Love the artwork of these, but I really want them to be more interesting than just what you would give Zombies if you gave them Rituals.”I just wanted it to do everything” They don’t want the archetype to be a thing. Zombies ARE the archetype. Shiranui and this are both completely synergetic with existing cards to an absurd degree, because that’s the nature of the type. MST negate is a terrible argument, because it hasn’t ruined cards on its own... ever. Searching is still fine because it gives you access to a Level 4 body/Level 2 body that floats/Level 3 body. It also lets you turn slayer into Chimera, for what that’s worth. It could have maybe allowed searching ST, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad now, or moving forward. Discarding allows you to filter dead mezukis/strix/rituals/etc. out whole better enabling engines like Ravine (which strix is also supportive of), so don’t see the problem. You’re just being incredibly greedy.
