Premier Alexander Romanov
Dowsing Dagger and Lost Vale are crazy. Mono decks are going to love that.
(GigaDrillBreaker)
Snapping sailback is an uncommon. What the hell is this set. I understand that leaving 5 open is telegraphed as funk, but what even is the counterplay
Sixty
hey dummies i like the munitions. anything doing a goblin bombardment impression impresses me
bury the year
The French card has double strike as long as you control a Dinosaur. Dire Fleet Ravager seems decently fun. Not only does his ability kick your opponents down a peg, but he'll bring two creatures down with him. Adanto Vanguard may be Standard-playable? Makes combat math tricky, at least. Other stuff is meh.
Flame Dragon
I don't think Adanto Vanguard will be all that good. Dealing 4 to yourself is a LOT of damage. Maybe thats ok in standard, but not in limited. Sneak seems really cool for limited. Might be good enough for standard. I actually enjoy the menace+deathtouch combo on Ravager more than the 1/3 life totals effect. Hitting all players is certainly something in commander though. Crew is just awesome. The art especially. Fun fact, the person looking longingly at the central figure is also a man. Neat little bit of inclusivity by Wizards. 5/5 trample haste is a beating in limited. More cards Ruthless Knave + Training Grounds/Anointed Procession is a reputable sac engine that generates infinite mana and draw with any combination of cards. Sixty
boy i'm sure glad the nekusar in my playgroup gets another megrim, especially one that triggers itself.
Poc
don underestimate vanguard. The tempo it gives you is really good. It makes your opponents removal terrible which is extremely good. It might pop up in standard if control continues to have a strong presence. Ravager is as midrange as it gets for a creature. Two really strong keywords make this thing more or less unblock able and it drains some life on ETB. I just don't understand the wizard creature type. Monstrosaur is a disgusting uncommon. Jesus funk. Beefy haste creatures usually overpreform in limited and this thing has trample too.
Poc
Sorry for the double post but I have a point to make here "One drop mana dorks are not ok for standard"- WotC Also WotChttps://imgur.com/a/TyyoW
Flame Dragon
In fairness 1 drop mana creatures can b played in any deck. While that is likely ways stronger, it is far more limited in the types of decks that will play it. Regardless, yea that is an insane card. Also just noticed it was common. Jesus that is nuts. Poc
this is a lot better than elvish mystic in a dino deck. The only issue is being White makes the mana a little awkward. They're really pushing dinos to the limit with this set.
Flame Dragon
They knew Dino tribal would be the most popular thing for the set so them pushing it so hard isn't that strange. Honestly, I'm super excited by it and wish I didn't have a Naya commander already since Dino EDH might actually have legs.
bury the year
Ayyo, last mythic. Seems pretty good in Limited - basically an oversized Lightning Helix that your opponent sees coming. As for multiplayer, it's a political shenanigans tool? Either that, or it makes you the biggest target.
Flame Dragon
Super mythic feeling. Also not at all something I'd want to open. Seriously the mythic for the set are pretty weak across the board. Not sure how I feel about that.
Poc
Yea this looks obnoxious as hell to play against in limited. You basically have to remove it or kill your opponent in one turn.
Flame Dragon
The full spoiler is now live. Everything seems like limited fodder, but we already had so much of the set that isn't shocking.
bury the year
Yeah, not terribly impressed by anything new. The indestructible scry-trip could see play, and the "tap all creatures" merfolk seems fun, but nothing else arouses my interest. I'm hoping we get more of a focus on merfolk and vampires in RIX, though. I'm underwhelmed by how many we got, despite still knowing that Wizards wanted to give more weight to dinos and pirates. Poc
So far red looks extremely good in limited. Lightning strike and a bunch of super efficient hasty and menaced creatures at common and uncommon. The rest of the premium removal in the set is pretty slow so I think they're anticipating a slow format. It should be a better format than Amonkhet. That whole limited was based on whoever played their bomb first won.
