ÆƵ–
This... Is actually pretty good. Only thing I would change is give the eyes a littke more of an outline to make them really cohesive, and maybe scratch a bit of a transition into the tail. Also what a lot of the spriters here, myself included, do is have a 100%, 200%, and either 4 or 500% in a single image, so we get to see how it looks both small and big. (GigaDrillBreaker)
protip for aez's last suggestion: use three separate images. The file sizes for these sprites are ludicrously small, so there is very little downside, it allows them to be on separate lines on the forum for people on mobile, rather than shrinking everything to fit, and honestly it's just way easier. As for the sprite, it is pretty amazing for a first try, but it could still use a bit of work. The tail connects at a weird angle, making the entire back end appear a bit choppy. Another thing of note is the placement of the fin on the left side of the image. Due to the orientation and shape of sharpedo, it shouldn't actually be visible at all, let alone at that angle. Lastly, the pattern on the top of the head doesn't quite feel like it is centered correctly. This is largely a result of Sharpedo having a shape that is really difficult to convey in pixel art, so it's no big issue. Overall, some great work, and I look forward to seeing more from you.
