BLASTERZ
Pendulum Effect: You can only use this card’s name Pendulum Effect once per turn.(1) If you do not control another card in your Pendulum Zone: You can target 1 face-up card you control that you can place a Spell Counter on; destroy this card, and if you do, place 1 Spell Counter on that card.Monster Effect:(1) Each time a Spell Card is activated, place 1 Spell Counter on this card when it resolves.(2) You can remove 3 Spell Counters from your field, then Tribute this card; Special Summon 1 “Mythical Beast” Effect Monster from your Deck, except “Mythical Beast Jackal”. Pendulum Effect: You can only use this card’s name Pendulum Effect once per turn.(1) If you do not control a card in your other Pendulum Zone: You can destroy this card, and if you do, add 1 “Mythical Beast” Effect Monster from your Deck to your hand.Monster Effect:(1) Each time a Spell Card is activated, place 2 Spell Counters on this card when that Spell Card resolves.(2) If there are 4 or more Spell Counters on your field, this card cannot destroyed by card effects.(3) Once per turn: You can remove 4 Spell Counters from your field, then target 1 monster your opponent controls; banish it, and if you do, this card gains ATK equal to the original ATK of the banished monster until the end of this turn. Yeah there's no way konami is gonna release good pendulums now that they have to advertise Links. Second they'd have you to have no other cards in your Pendulum Zone because the best cards with the Spell Counter usage in the game right now is Magical Abducator. No one is playing Breaker or that spellbook star card. Jackal is the SKilled dark Magician and lets you jump into its boss monster, the mythical beast pendulum, or you can go into the regular level 4. This card is not that good and is pretty ok overall. It has a spell speed 1 effect that targets, which may be an issue but it gains the ATK of the monster afterwards. These are such dissapointments, but its understandable because they gotta advertise
(GigaDrillBreaker)
If it was SS2 I would actually be interested in it, but unfortunately that isn't the case.
The Highlander
Master Cerberus is quite interesting ... jackal is absolute garbage. So right now they need scale 9s (and scale 0s) ...Not much else to note right now.The concept looks interesting, however the first pendulum archtype in a while sounds fishy, I am not too sure they want to make them compatible with the mechanics changes. If nothing else jackal is a one for one target, a magical abductor target and gets filled immediately with the own counter placer ... though the same goes for master cerberus.Oh yea and thus far all mythical beast effect monsters have ATK and DEF stats in full multiples of 1400. ~~~~
Wow I kinda want to play these just because they are physically beautiful cards. Also>Chemical Beast>Eidolon Beast>Zodiac Beast>Mythical Beast just sayin'
Darj
Looks to me that this archetype will get the short end of the stick. I agree that Master Cerberus was close enough if the banishing effect had been a Quick Effect, and Jackal summoning from the Deck is a nice way to avoid occupying the EM Zone. Still, it's kind of a shame since I would like to see an Spell Counter deck become relevant, excluding Library shenanigans. By the way, have Spell Counters decks ever been relevant? The closest was Endymion back then... right?
Sleepy
Yeah the cards seem purposely underwhelming in some departments.-Scale 4 aka worst Scale in the game.-Levels 1 and 8 aka right in the boundaries where they can't be Pendulum Summoned (unless Supreme King Gates or Pendulumucho, but still).-Pendulum Effects which require no cards in your other Scale... because screw supporting Magical Abductor (she works better with Luster Pendulum anyways IMO).-Protection of the boss is just against effect destruction..... meh-Effect removal is indeed kind of slow, but it is alright if it wasn't all about that.... at least it isn't though... Things to note:-These cards now use Spell Counters from the overall field. An issue I've always had with Spell Counters is how one or two of them would hoard most of them and then let you naked when they got off the field.... This is an improvement.-The boss gains 2 Spell Counters x effect, which is nice.-Trade-in/Allure targets and one can search the other (barely an argument though lol) Jackal's Monster Effect would have rather added to the hand and be the Pendulum Effect, and Master Cerberus is a bad choice for the one that gets to be boss IMO. I'd rather have a DARK boss that can get Summoned by Dark Magic Veil or Dark Renewal as an extra bonus. If made like this, both Pendulums would search each other out and thin the deck while producing Spell Counters through Pendulum Scale activation (in a hard OPT manner) similar to how Spell Power Grasp worked. And also, at least be Level 2 Scale 8 and Level 7 Scale 2 or anything else that actually promotes the mechanic. Kaiji
I mean these cards are just Hirukos which is what I thought people appreciated out of Pends :x Jackal has a super solid Monster Effect after realizing it can remove from anywhere
(GigaDrillBreaker)
Jackal has a super solid Monster Effect after realizing it can remove from anywhereLack of OPT is also sweet if you manage to field multiple. Being a level 1 spellcaster pendulum means it can be grabbed by abductor whether abductor is in pend or monster zone, which is pretty neat. I think Jackal's Pendulum is ass anyway outside of triggering Astrograph but has a decent level, decent typing and passable monster eff.Level 8 is mediocre as a monster but it has a solid Pend eff (citing Astrograph again, but interested in more member)
