宇佐見 蓮子@C94
Also one more thing- A lot of time lyrics don't sound good in English because they were written in a way to rhyme in the original language, since a lot of words share the same pronounciation but different kanji, it often ends up as nonsensical when translated, but is a pun when written in the original language. For example, this stanza from 8番目の路地 (Lyrics by Emaru, Translated by Releska) During a silent rainy dayBoth my mind and body grow cold.I grind up the coffee beansAnd brew them up. How delicious! The piled-up umbrellas go upside-down,And from inside, frogs soar into the puddles. They soar into the puddles. Sounds like nonsense. But the original Japanese: shinshin to shita ame no hi nishinshin to mo ni hietekoohii no mame wohiite irete oishii nokasaneta kasa ga sakasa ni nattenaka kara kaeru ga mizu tamari ni tobu nomizu tamari ni tobu no Rhyme almost perfectly. Dr. Cakey
What does that have to do with the music being good or bad though?I've been reviewing OP's arguments, and this may shock you, but I'm starting to think they might not make much sense... Asian musicians tend to have musical lyrics that are more overly complicated because the tonal and structure of the language is more complex, making it harder for them to rhyme or create synergy with their words.
