I want to make a card version of a card that was shown in the anime but never made into an actual card. The rules of the card weren't entirely specified but I plan to make them specified. The card I'm specifically talking about is Dice Dungeon, though I will probably do it with some other cards as well. Where would I post cards like this?

You can remake any cards that are anime/manga only and place them in either Casual or Advanced Cards, but you must make significant changes to make it your own product.

 

If going for the latter, you need to be able to explain how it'll work competitively.

So is it against the rules to use the artwork from the anime? What changes must be made in order for it to be "my own product"? Especially since these are fan-made products anyways? Casual would be the place I would put it since it is a luck-based card and therefore probably wouldn't be used competitively.

1. No, you can use the same artwork from the anime. There is no need for you to find another source of artwork or go written.

 

(If you decide to upload it to Duel Portal, then you'll need to find a new pic due to DP rules, which also tie into the C/D given to Dueling Network a few times by Nihon Ad Systems.)

 

2. At a bare minimum, the effects need to be changed enough so it is noticeably different than the original. (So basically, don't copy/paste the card's effects verbatim in the section, because it will be locked). It will be checked against the Wikia [and wording updates do not count as major changes].

 

You can modify stats if needed, but you probably shouldn't unless the stats are detrimental to making it function in the modern age.

 

In the case of Dice Dungeon, you can retain its current effect of rolling a die, but just specify what would result. If Dice Dungeon already had this, you would have to modify the effects yourself. (Right now, it doesn't have specific effects so adding those will class it as your card)

Thank you! So one last thing, a couple of result effects were specified in the anime, can I keep those the same or should those be changed as well? I don't mind either way, I can come up with something creative if they need to be changed.

You can keep them; for checking reasons, it'll just be whatever's written on the card's Wikia page.
