0PxPz0
It was an average summer afternoon in Domino City, Sirius Tuplar, inventor of the world wide sensation duel monsters, watched a small circuit finals for his game with joy, preparing to hand the trophy to the victor whoever it may be, the unknown duelist or the creator of the duel disk, Seth Kingston. On nearly the other side of the city a boy by the name Yuukei Raida was the closest he'd come to finishing the gift his grandfather had given him his last birthday, a supposed replica of the famous puzzle box known as "The Eternal Keep", a magic prison of sorts for all kinds of evil that once threatened the land of Egypt. unbeknownst to the three of them the events surrounding that puzzle box would cause them each to set off on a personal quest, all connected to the game Sirius had created. shadowsapex
Yuukei looks up from the golden box on his desk with a sigh, leaning back in his chair. This little puzzle box had stumped him far longer than any other puzzle he'd ever tried. He has no idea whether this really is something like "the hardest puzzle in the world", as his grandfather had claimed, but from the moment he had first tried it, he had been hooked by the challenge. He lifts it up to the sunlight, turning it to examine it. It's etched with Egyptian glyphs and symbols - supposedly to ward off evil, though he doubts it. He's not one for old stories. He runs his fingers over the hieroglyphs on one side, the ones he knows by heart: "The one who completes this puzzle will have their wish granted"...He had always dismissed it before as another one of his grandfather's tales, but somehow, today is different. He's working this puzzle box with a confidence he hadn't had before, as if something else is guiding his hands, and he barely even needs to think about the moves he makes. The air seems charged with magic, and somehow, though the box gives no indication, he knows that he's close to solving it now, closer than ever before. The electrifying feeling in the air only increases with every move he makes.A smile comes unbidden to his lips. "I wish for power…" he whispers to the empty room. "The power to carve my existence into this world…" OOC: What, am I just going to solve it now?
Libracor
OOC: (Really sorry it took me so long to get to this!) IC:As Seth took a look at the crowd he noticed a disturbing lack of fawning. He pointed up in the air with his right hand, leaving his left extended holding his duel disk. "Where in the world are my cheers? I have no monsters on the field and nothing in my hand, my opponent's LP is at 4000 and their only monster is a defending Coin Dragon." The yellow beast shuddered at the words. "With this draw, and the four cards in my hand, I will end this fool! So cry out in support for Seth Kingston! Draw!" As Seth drew his card, his long coat fluttered in imaginary wind. He wasted no time in playing having already created the perfect move. "I activate "Cobalt Assembly' giving me an extra Tribute summon every Turn. Next I activate 'Cost Circumvented'. By discarding Opal-Eyes Cobalt Dragon, I can Tribute Summon with no Tributes this Turn. Finally I activate Temple of the Cobalt. Once per turn, upon a successful Tribute Summon, I can special summon one Cobalt monster from my Deck or Grave." The young heir swept his hair back in a cocky manner. "And we all know that "Cobalt" monsters can be normal Summoned from the Graveyard. I Graveyard Summon Opal-Eyes Cobalt Dragon, and as a result Special Summon another from my Deck." The two massive scaled beasts tumbled into the world, wreathed in icy blue fire, eyes glistening with seven colors, through blue portals in the ground. "And for my Second Normal summon this Turn: Opal-Eyes Cobalt Dragon!" As the third appeared, Seth opened up his Extra Deck and prepared his final move."I activate the magic of Polymerization! With it I fuse teo of my Dragons into Opal-Eyes Dual Cobaltitan Dragon!" What came next was a hulking two-headed beast, now sporting more intricate silver armor and a complex network of spines. "Cobaltitan, destroy that weakling! Twin Boreal Vortex!" As the Dragon's icy breath disintigrated its quarry, the ATK of the destroyed monster, amounting to 1500, was dealt to the nameless foe as damage. "Opal-Eyes, Finish the Job! Boreal Judgement!" Blue Fury enveloped the stage, and as it faded so too did the other holograms.Seth looked out to the audience, settling his eyes on Sirius Tulpar. "I played your game," he thought, "Chi, Psi, Omega. Which of these legendary cards will be my prize? I want them all and you know it, Tulpar!"
0PxPz0
"And Seth Kingston has unsurprisingly made another turn around victory!" the crowd burst into cheers as the announcer proclaimed the victor, Sirius simply clapped quietly from the judges table, eyes matching Seth's gleefully, before taking his microphone and going to the duel area to address the crowd. "What a lovely ending to a thrill packed tournament!" he paused until the cheers died down. "And of course my sincere congratulations to both our champion and runner up, give them a hand folks." he gestured to the pair of duelists, watching Seth from the corner of his eye. "Now then, it's time to hand out our wonderful prizes, for those of you in the audience and watching at home don't tune out just yet. After some thrilling post match commentary I'll return to make a special announcement." he handed placed the mic on the nearest stand as he pulled two envelopes from within his signature trench coat. "For our second place winner, an an exclusive signed copy of my favorite little bunny, Totem Rabbit, with alternate art by yours truly." he shook hands with Seth's opponent and gave him one of the envelopes, sure to take excruciatingly long. "Then of course to our champion himself, a card I'm sure you're all dying to get your hands on, the yet to be released, and one of only two copies, of the long rumored, brand new, Cobalt Chi Dragon!" Sirius handed Seth the envelope, tapping the back twice to be sure his message would be received "You want the others then you pay close attention. ~ Sirius T." he smiled sincerely for the cameras as he handed off his microphone to the post match commentator and returned to his seat, surely mister Kingston would approach him for more information on those cards he so coveted. Libracor
Seth was sitting in the leather backseat of a stretched black limousine, chrome tires with spinning rims and stocked mini fridge included. He sipped a glass of champagne in celebration of his latest victory. The duel, of course was easy. It was the card that was his true objective. Opening the envelope, he scowled to find a cryptic note. Tulpar was testing his patience, requesting an audience in return for the promised card. Seth didn't blame him. A card with that kind of rarity and value would be difficult to hand off so willingly, and if the note was to be believed, the other two cards would not await his hands for long. Opening his phone to check his email, Seth found a new reply in a long chain of emails desicated to the Psi Dragon. Apparently a non verifiable source placed its location in the hands of one Raida game shop. Seth would have dismissed it had he not remembered a student named Raida in his homeroom class at school. He smiled to himself as his Limo stopped to let him out at the front door of Sirius Tulpar's private home. "Even if Tulpar doesn't give me the Psi card, at least now I have a lead as to where I can find it myself."Seth stood at the door as his security staff knocked. Yuya-Kun
How do you live in a city that doesn't want you? It was a question Joey asked himself every single day. Survival was the only thing on his mind and he had little resources to help. His only possessions? A duel disk, deck and a small broken down shack of an apartment. Still it was liveable. "Why does everythan have ta go wrong fo me?" He asked himself. He was in his dark apartment, with a little light to keep him comfort. He stood up and picked up his duel disk. The props of being on the streets, and on the run, was that it couldn't get much worse. Joey dueled for money and other supplies. He didn't care if he got caught. Prison would be easier to live in then his twisted hell. He left the room and walked down the murky dark rotten staircase of the 4 storied building. It once thrived with life, until 20 years ago when- they ran out of money and closed it down. it eventually was left to rot in the neighbourhood. Joey expected it to be knocked down any day to make space. As he walked through the door that was on its hinges, he noticed how bright tonight was. He noticed a guy with a duel disk strapped on, walking down the street, not having a clue what was about to happen. "well Maroon-Eyes, we got tonights dinner and tomorrows breakfast." He thought as his eyes flashed to red and back
