A Crow's Revenge (Not Accepting/Cohost: Libracor)

Recommended Posts

Many worlds exist in this universe, some small and some big, some that stand out others that have not been explored as much. Among these worlds stood out one that was unlike the others, while it's history was marked with bloodshed and violence it now stands as one of the more peaceful worlds. The Gray Garden, a world where demons and angels live in peace with eachother, a peace that was forged after a long and bloody war.

This conflict, that took thousands of lives on each side, was ultimately settled when the devil, Kcalb, and the god, Etihw, ended the conflict peacefully so that no more innocent blood had to be spilled. This war took place many, many... Many years ago, so it has become something of a distant memory for those who had witnessed it. However, there were some who did not agree with this peaceful end, and their names have long since faded over time, except for one.

On the day of the Gray Festival, a celebration of the centuries of peace and prosperity in the Garden, this name will let itself be known again. A name that Kcalb had hoped to never hear uttered in the waking world.

[spoiler=Important Characters][spoiler=Kcalb]

eB1XsjV.jpg

The devil of The Gray Garden and Etihw's apparent lover. He is a quiet man and is not very fond of people who mess around. During the war between angels and demons, he was supposedly much more scary and harsh, but years of peace and Etihw's company have molded him into a much kinder soul. He has a younger brother, Wodahs, and two demon cat assistants, Ater and Arbus.

[spoiler=Etihw]

kNxWxDu.jpg

The god of The Gray Garden and Kcalb's apparent lover. She's much more outgoing than Kcalb and is rather laid back and lazy. Like Kcalb, she was much more aggressive and harsh during the war between angels and demons, but nowadays she is extremely calm and relaxed. She is constantly trying to get Kcalb to open up more to others.

[spoiler=Ivlis]

5cI20Re.jpg

Devil of the Flame World. He tried to lead an invasion on The Gray Garden so that he could steal Kcalb's power. He failed and was later captured by Satanick and Reficul, who punished him severely. He is referred to as being a big airhead and has three children (oldest to youngest): Vendetto, Poemi, and Licorice

[spoiler=Satanick]

L6Le061.jpg

Devil of another world and a bit of an oddball. His personality is a bit jumbled up as he can appear calm, sadistic, crazy, serious, or intelligent depending on his mood. He captured and punished Ivlis for invading The Gray Garden but later developed an affection for his prisoner. He pretty much knows most if not all of the devils and gods as he has visited each of their worlds.

[spoiler=Reficul]

V0WL8Iw.jpg

Devil of another world, she was once an angel but it is unknown how she became a demon. She is calm and rather dull in how she speaks but she can be very quick to anger. Helped stop Ivlis's invasion on The Gray Garden and, with Satanick's help, captured and punished him afterwards. Has a wife, Sin, a lover, Lzet, and a son, Mors.

[spoiler=Playable Races]Angel- Self explanatory, beings of light who are usually seen having a halo, wings, or both.

Demon- Again, self explanatory, beings of darkness or flame who are usually seen with wings, a tail, or both. All demons have horns.

Familiar- Magical beings who can transform into larger versions of the animals they are based on. In their humanoid form, familiars show distinct features based on what animal they are.

Witch/Wizard- Magical beings who wield powerful spells. While they are independent, all witches and wizards report to the Great Witch in the Spell World. Along with their magic, witches and wizards usually employ a familiar or two to aid them.

[spoiler=Other Worlds]The Gray Garden- A world known for its peace between angels and demons, and of course for the beautiful flowers that bloom in it. At the heart of it is Gray Village and north of the village is Blancblack Castle, where Etihw and Kcalb live. It also has a stunning coastline overlooking the Great Blue Sea. Angels and demons here are laid back and kind, and possess standard powers over light and darkness.

The Arctic- Not so much another world as it is a part of the Gray Garden world. Familiars, angels, and demons from here reap the benefit of having unique ice related abilities. The freezing arctic doesn't get many visitors but any who come receive a relatively "warm" welcome from the locals.

The Great Blue Sea- A large, expansive sea in the Gray Garden world. Many aquatic familiars make there homes here and are ruled by the caring hand of Princess Uomi. Compared to other areas, The Great Blue Sea has a culture reminiscent of japanese culture, from architecture to local traditions.

Flame World- Uncommonly known as the World of the Sun, Flame World refers to the world's hell where the devil, Ivlis, rules. The god of this world is Siralos, who is responsible for creating the suns that shine in all the other worlds. Angels and demons from this world have brilliantly shining wings and are exceptional wielders of fire.

Reficul and Satanick's Worlds- Not much is known about these two devils worlds, only that their angels and demons possess animal like features.

Spell World- A world of magic and the home base of all witches and wizards. Ruled by the Great Witch, this world has a dark landscape that is overlooked by a big, red sun.

[spoiler=I'm Familiar With Mah Familiar(WIP)]

[spoiler=Name Info]

Name: Nate Robins

 Nickname: Natey

[spoiler=Race]
Race: Familiar (Wolf)

Age: 17

Gender: Male

[spoiler=Appearance:] PICTURE NOT FOUND

[spoiler=Personality:] Natey has been, for the vast majority of his life, described as "stubborn" or "moody", to the extent where it's the first thing you notice. This gives him the feel of a moody teen or, something along those lines, but, to be honest, he's more mature than you would think. He's ready to take responsibility for his indifferent personality, quite a good learner and understands how actions will affect others. It doesn't matter how much he is hated and looked down upon, he carries on with his life and that's what he prides himself upon the most.

[spoiler=My reminder]

At least a paragraph, how does your character feel, what makes them tick, what do they like

[spoiler=Bio:] Natey was born like any other familiar. He had a loving father, who had high hopes for his son to find a good witch/wizard to accompany, just like anyone else. A caring mother, who didn't care who he became tied with, as long as he was happy, just like anyone else. A few grandparents and great-grandparents here and there, who were like a combination of the two, just like anybody else. But he didn't accept that. He wanted to become unique, to not be like everyone else. So by the age of 8, he carved a symbol into himself, so he would have a unique look in his wolf form. Of course, his family gave him warnings about this and were not happy when he did it, but the fuss died down after a while. Age 9, his familiar started affecting his personality and became an introvert.  [spoiler=Reminder] This is just a draft

Abilities/Equipment: Again, don't be ridiculous. The devils and gods are the only overpowered ones

Misc: Any details worth mentioning, themes, etc.

Can we use a photo instead of writing an appearance? I know you have this whole art style but it's more convenient to use a photo

Here's my application

[spoiler=The Dawnwalker]

Name: Salem Al-Saleh

Race: Fallen Angel

Age: 27

Gender: male

Appearance: Salem has Yellow eyes and Black Hair and wings. His hair is usually pulled back into a lose ponytail. He wears a slhort-sleeved White T-shirt and a Cobalt-Blue hooded cloak on his torso. The shirt has long narrow slits in the back to fit his wings. He wears a Red feather from his mother and a Purple one from his father tied into his bangs. He wears lose-fitting black silk pants with plated guards attached at the shins, knees, and groin and wears metal boots. He also wears a fingerless metal armguard on each hand that reaches up to his elbows.

Personality: Salem is highly energetic, always the first to get into a conversation and the least to leave. He can't stand sitting still and will fidget or look for any excuse to do something, even going as far as to take walks around the streets or fly alone for hours on end. He is insecure about his inability to use magic naturally, and trained with his wings to have great physical endurance and strength. He also trains with his Gunblade whenever he can focus, hoping to become a great knight like his mother and father. While he is energetic, traumatic or stressful situations can cause him to become deathly serious, and his skills in combat sharpen as he locks away his emotions and distractions.

Bio: Salem's Father was Saleh Al-Alenhalem, a Fallen Angel. Where his ancestors embraced the powers of dark and fire, Saleh rejected them and fought alongside the angels and risen demons of the Realm of Light. Because he was of tainted blood, Sleh could not use the power of light, but because he rejected the Realm of Darkness, he was locked out of its shadowy magic as well, armed with only water and fire. When Salem was born, years after the wars ended, he was found to have no capacity for magic. He had the power within him, but for some reason had no way to utilize it. Alchemists native to the Hanging Gardens of Azalea, a floating city in the Grey Garden where Salem was raised, crafted for him a weapon that could make use of magical, bullet-shaped talismans. The Gunblade Faithkeeper was born! Armed with this blade, and a clockwork pistol called Dawnfeather, Salem trained in the ways of combat to honor his father and overcome his lack of magical powers.

Salem had secretly hoped he would never truly need to put his skills to the test. But on the night of the Grey Festival, an old name was known again, and Salem's parents did their final duty and both soldiers and parents, and gave their lives to protect their son.

Abilities/Equipment:

He weilds a Gunblade, essentially an ornate cutlass with a mostly straight blade and a slightly curves "Stock" and a revolving carousel. It can hold up to six kinds of "Spellshots"- Self replicating magical bullets. Any bullet placed in the chamber can be fired infinitely so long as Salem still has power left, and can be rotated clockwise or counter-clockwise by spinning the clockwork hammer. Such bullets range from elemental blasts to long-range mundane ammunition, to concussion ammo, which produces a shockwave around the blade itself for increased explosive striking power, and Knockback, which allow Salem to throw himself across the battlefield.

Salem also carries a Clockwork Pistol known as Dawnfeather with decent range that can fire .65 Cal rounds and can hold 24 round clips. He carries two spare clips wherever he goes and uses this weapon when he needs to make a shot for distance or accuracy that Faithkeeper is ill-equipped to deal with.

Salem cannot use magic on his own and must rely on his weapon to cast battle-ready bullets.

Misc: Because he grew up in the Hanging Gardens of Azalea, he has a taste for fresh produce, and finds heavy meat difficult to digest.

[spoiler=Retired Angelic General]

Name: Abbadon

Race: Angel

Age: Old enough to remember how the war started.

Gender: Male

[spoiler=Appearance]

Not especially tall or short, Abbadon is not as imposing as those who only know him by reputation and stories of the war would expect. Certainly athletic, after all what soldier isn't, he certainly doesn't look like anything special at first glance. The solid, faintly glowing eyes, while perhaps not terribly common, are not exactly unheard of particularly among older angels, and the bronze skin with a slightly metallic sheen wouldn't be thought of as out of place. If anything his nearly physically perfect, all but completely unscathed features would make anyone who looks at him think he was anything but a soldier. Still, a few things do mark him out. The rigidness of his stance, the purpose and power with which he makes every move, mark him out as a warrior through and through. To those who would recognize such things, the barbed and steely halo above his head marks him as an officer among the Angelic Military and the metallic brackets on his back, from which tendrils of apparent light stream when unfolded, are obviously prosthetic replacements for wings lost in battle.

In terms of clothing, Abbadon's choices are subdued. His preferred attire for being out and about is a simple navy blue suit with a white under shirt and red tie rounded off with shiny black leather shoes which are popular for use in military dress uniforms. More often than not he will leave his head uncovered, his silver hair cut short into the style preferred by officers across most worlds' militaries. The only actual remarkable piece of his attire is the sword he occasionally carries with him in its black lacquered scabbard.

[spoiler=Personality]

Certainly calmer than his reputation would lead many to expect, Abbadon might very well be one of the best examples of the peace that has reigned in the Gray Garden since the war ended all those years ago. He simply lives his life, and does not even hold ill will to the Demon who took his wings. Of course certain aspects of his military career remain; the stiffness in his posture, the commanding tone of his voice, and the way he sizes up everyone he meets are all remnants of when he served. Though he rarely smiles he is not particularly grim. Abbadon simply is not a particularly expressive person, and even the slightest of smiles is a significant show of emotion on his part. Along with this, he is fairly reserved in his speech. That is to say he tends not to say very much, preferring to use a few important words rather than many less important words.

Though he rarely has reason to get political in one way or another, Abbadon is very supportive of the peaceful way of things that has come over the Gray Garden. Perhaps he still has difficulty accepting interracial relationships between Angels and Demons, but is not going to go around tearing them apart and beating Demons in the street. It is just a challenge, even now, for him to see his race's opposite as anything apart from the enemy. He also recognizes this issue, and tries to grow past it. To the point that he will often chat up Demons in socially appropriate situations for no other reason than to simply learn about their lives. After all, it is very hard to hate someone that you know well.

[spoiler=Bio.]

Many are the titles that Abbadon earned during the war. Heaven's Fire, Hell's Bane, Terror of Demons, The Falling Light, and Archangel of Judgement are just a few that were given to him by allies and enemies alike. Though he was a young man, just promoted to the rank of Captain, when the war began he quickly learned just how much he would be changed. What began as simply doing his duty to fight as the Gods commanded turned into a wrathful obsession as more and more friends and subordinates were lost to the battles. Early on he adopted a style of leading from the front, styling himself as the point of the spear that was the angelic army. With sword and spear he made the Demons pay in blood for every inch of ground and every life they took, and eventually he met someone very much like himself on the opposite side. Their battle was the stuff of legend, each of them nearly the pinnacle of what their kind could be. The missed strikes and wide blows alone inflicted enormous losses on the soldiers around them, and the duel only ended when Abbadon dragged his opponent into the skies and summarily had his wings cut from his back. He awakened in a hospital far from the front lines, and was given leave to recover from his injuries.

Not content to simply fight on the ground, he sought out a way to restore or replace his wings. Eventually he found a Witch who was willing to try, and after weeks of effort his wings of flesh and bone were replaced by metal and light. When he returned to service, he immediately left an impression upon both his fellows and his enemies. As the war ever grew in scale, he climbed in the ranks until he became a General. Not that he ever retired from fighting in the field. He continued to lead from the front, inspiring angelic soldiers and sending some demons fleeing in terror at the sight of him. Others took his appearance as a challenge, and they rushed to bring him down. The fact that he is living is testament enough to the fact that he cut every last one of them down with a singular exception. When the call for peace went up, when the war was put to its end, he was in the heat of battle with a Demonic General. At first neither of them believed what they were hearing, and they might have killed each other anyways were it not for the intervention of their more sensible subordinates. With the war over and little need for warriors, Abbadon quietly retired and left to try and live his life.

Adapting to peace was not easy for the first few years, with tensions high and a great deal of bad blood between the two sides. That Abbadon served as a voice of reason in this time is less due to his own feelings on the subject and more to his loyalty to Etihw. He wanted to return to war as much as many, and hated that in serving as a mediator he had to work alongside a Demon. As it happened, that Demon had very similar feelings. The two eventually came to blows, thankfully not publicly, and might well have killed each other had they not listened to what each other said in the midst of it. As each said more about their feelings and reasoning, the fighting gradually slowed until they were simply shouting at one another, and then further until the shouting died away. The insight into each other, the realisation that everyone he had killed had been dear to someone was a sobering experience for Abbadon. In the weeks and months after their fight, he talked more and more with this Demon and became more and more earnest in his appeals to the public that they remain peaceful. He and his demonic colleague never really became friends, but they reached enough of an understanding with each other to continue working until there was no longer a need for mediation.

These days, Abbadon has very little to do with himself. With peace apparently secured, and now in the hands of a younger generation, he has little part to play and for the most part is happy with it. The most he does usually is give advice to those who ask it of him, often over a few cups of tea.

[spoiler=Equipment]

Wrath- The great spear with which Abbadon ran through hundreds of demons during the war, this is an exceptionally powerful weapon. In addition to simply being a heavy weapon with excellent reach, every wound which does not kill the target is wreathed in painfully bright white flames which linger for a short while afterwards. Wrath can also project its power outwards, whether in a long-ranged beam of searing light, a cone of destructive power, or a burst of holy flame outwards from its wielder. Abbadon wielded this spear during the war in both hands as often as he wielded in one along with his sword, Ruin.

Ruin- The longsword which allowed Abbadon to behead dozens of challengers, this weapon holds power befitting the General who carried it. Instead of any fancy tricks, Ruin simply inflicts wounds much deeper and cuts through armor and magic much more readily than other swords. Even against defenses which it cannot simply cut through, such as the heaviest of armor, it can be wielded in such a way as to exploit the natural gaps in such things. During the war, Ruin was as readily the only weapon Abbadon carried as it was wielded in one hand along with his spear, Wrath.

Angelic Armor- This heavy set of armor offers as much protection from magical and mundane attacks as anyone can reasonably hope for without restraining its wearer's movement. This is in fact the very same armor which Abbadon wore during the war, modified to accommodate his prosthetic wings.

[spoiler=Abilities]

Smite- Calling upon the Divine Power, Abbadon brings a great lance of Holy Light crashing down upon the ground and bathing his enemies in its baleful radiance. The power of the strike is enough to reduce lesser foes to ashes in an instant, and those who survive are left far more vulnerable to damage from Holy Power for a short time afterwards. Smite also unleashes additional power dependent upon the Icon which Abbadon has active.

Icon of Temperance- Vowing to teach his foes the limits of their power, Abbadon and his weapons become shrouded in an icy blue light. Enemies struck by him while this seal is active find their movements slowed as if by a biting cold or great weight upon them. Enemies struck by his Smite with this active are struck dumb and left vulnerable, or else slowed more drastically if they can resist the stunning power. The icon's power is consumed by such a smite, and Abbadon must pause to reactivate it or else fight on without its aid.

Icon of Justice- With an oath to exact Justice upon the Unjust, Abbadon and his weapons are wreathed in golden flame. All of his attacks carry Holy Power in them beyond the norm for an angelic warrior, inflicting ever more harm to those who stand against him. When he Smites while empowered by this seal, its initial power is increased and those struck are left vulnerable for longer. The icon's power is consumed by such a smite, and Abbadon must pause to reactivate it or else fight on without its aid.

Icon of Valor- Swearing to fight on in the face of even the worst of odds, a sparkling green aura envelops Abbadon and his weapons. Each time he strikes a foe, he is invigorated and his injuries slightly mend. Minor wounds close completely, while more severe ones may simply cease to bleed until they are opened again. Smiting with this seal empowered drastically changes the nature of the ability. It instead becomes a soft, comforting light that shines upon those beneath it. All those touched by the light experience their wounds mending and maladies being cured, and for a short time afterwards they are protected from harm by the lingering light. The icon's power is consumed by such a smite, and Abbadon must pause to reactivate it or else fight on without its aid.

Lay on Hands- By placing a hand upon himself or an ally, Abbadon can call upon the Holy Power inherent to all angels and pass it into them. Though this requires several moments of his attention, the channeled power has significant curative properties. All but the most severe of wounds close within seconds, and even those mortally wounded can be bought precious time to receive necessary medical attention.

Call to Battle- When he answered the call to war in his youth, Abbadon had the Holy Power within himself awakened to an extent that it could never properly be contained again. Every time he strikes, some of that power passes into his weapons. As one might expect, this makes him an especially potent foe to those vulnerable to such things. Furthermore, even when he is unarmed he can call his weapons to him and they will appear in a blinding burst of light.

Angelic Flight- Though he lost his wings in the war, the prosthetics he has since received function just as well as the originals. Abbadon can fly quickly and is quite maneuverable in the air.

Skill at Arms- You don't live to become an old man in a war without being very good at your job, and Abbadon is very good at his job. Whether he is fighting with both his weapons or without either of them, he is more than capable of handling himself. The dozens of challengers he put down during the war are testament enough of this.
