(GigaDrillBreaker)
So, I wanted to do a vector art because why the hell not. Looked up how online, found and followed a tutorial. [spoiler=ended up with this] So that was a disaster. I then went "funk it" and did the entire thing with paths. [spoiler=Much better] [spoiler=With colors ripped straight from base image]
Dad
Was expecting more funking with this art. Not disappointed.
Icy
Honestly I love this. I really do. Your attempt is great, both of them. Pleasing on the eyes and all that. But... did you have anti-aliasing turned on throughout everything? You have 9 dominant colors in this but somehow wound up with 3523 colors? When you vector you're creating a special kind of sprite. Those inner anti-aliasing edges should not exist. If you need the extra separation between colors and to add depth it should be a single color for each. Otherwise when you shrink it down or enlarge it, something vectoring is designed to do, those extra colors become a problem and more prominent rather than a cohesive part of it.
