Here's the prompt: Duallum WingArchetype of LIGHT Winged-Beast monsters with different effects that activate either when they are Special Summoned, or when they leave the field but or are used as Xyz material but were Special Summoned previously. Their catch is that you have to choose which effect to apply: if you choose to activate on-Special Summon effect, then their sent-to-grave effect won't apply, and if you prefer the latter effect instead, then you have to not activate the other effect. This is intended to be a reference to the "dual" in their archetype name.To further empathize their duality theme, they all have a subtype, be it Flip, Tuner, Gemini, etc. However, they are not bound to the standard effects of said subtypes; for instance, the Duallum Flip has a Flip effect in addition to the aforementioned 2 on-Special-Summon effects; the same goes for the Gemini Duallum monster; in the case of a Spirit Duallum, it would be Special Summonable, but would bounce itself during the End Phase, like Yamato-no-Kami. Likewise, their Extra Deck monsters have 2 subtypes as well, such as Synchro/Tuner, Xyz/Pendulum, maybe an Union, etc.Moreover, most of their support don't directly apply on "Duallum Wing" monsters, but instead on LIGHT Winged Beasts, and thus making of Sacred Crane a solid tech that also fits their on-Special-Summon effect theme.The hardest part was figuring out how to word it so each card only gets the 1 effect, though I think I worked it out. The other difficult part was balance. I'm open to suggestions if things are way too weak/powerful. The trend I kinda fell into was the SS effect was more offensive and could encompass all kinds of removal while the removed from field effect comes as more of a consistency boost. Darj Posted May 20, 2017 Report Share Posted May 20, 2017 So, you decided to make an archetype out of the description, huh. I wonder what motivated you to do so. When I thought on the concept, I also pondered on how their main effect would be written. This is how I would write it:If this card is Special Summoned: [insert Effect #1 here]. If this Special Summoned monster leaves the field, or was used as Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon and then detached, and its effect on the field was not activated: [insert Effect #2 here].Then you can put a hard OPT clause on each effect if desired or needed. IMO this take is more understandable, despite being longer. Also it makes the effect trigger when detached, because AFAIK so far no card triggers an effect when used as Xyz Material, but instead give the effect to the Xyz Monster, and since that option would be too convoluted, the next best option is Derricrane's condition. I was expecting the Duallum Geminis to have 3 effects: the 2 archetype effects, and one that they gain when you "Gemini Summon" them.Speaking of them, not too keen on the on-Summon effect of Distance: feels too flexible for me and can enable silly stuff with, for example, Glad Beasts and Gyzarus.
