I don't know about this card, it seems like a decent enough card, but would I really want to put in 3 monsters for it? Seems like it would be hard to really use right now, but could be a decent enough card later on.

Well, 2000 isn't too bad, protection is nice as well, but not sure it's something that's really needed for Cyberse.

Encode Talker looks too defensive and passive for my tastes. I guess it can lead to big damage if you transfer the ATK boost to an already big monster, but that shouldn't be a common situation... right? I truly don't know because I have seen the plays Link decks can do that end with Firewall Dragon spam and such, and thus this card could very well lead to an OTK.

 

As for Kleinant, I guess its ability to destroy RAM Cloudia in the hand and get its searching effect can come in handy?

To be fair, that monster has to be at your Northward Link Point.

Card only really worth noting because it can boost itself, so you can ram a small dooder and take no damage and then get Honest effect

For the low low price of minimum 4 monster investment and your Battle Phase

I find it kinda weird that it requires Cyberse materials when it doesn't seem all that good

These two just feel really meh. Even at their best they aren't amazing. Pretty disappointing after fire like akashic, trigate, and firewall (which are all pmuch generic, too)

Kleinant yes, but I'll disagree with you on that for Encode. As far as Lightning-Like monsters go, it's a pretty interesting way to go about attack-boost effects and is pretty flexible in its application. It can be used in several ways for protection or attack, and has the potential for quite a bit of damage. It's one of those cards that's pretty versatile, and if you're smart in what you protect and what you choose to boost with stats, it can be a pretty great card to have.

 

Keep in mind, his effect will protect the monster that's battling from destruction and damage; but you can boost either Encode itself or any monster at its Link Points with the stat boost. And, as Kaiji pointed out, you can do an opponent's monster too and that can have some spicy memes attached to it.

That isn't actually hard for his example, just requires a lot of stupid ED concessions.

Token 2 = Link Spider

NS skyblaster, make 3 tokens

Proxy + Spider = Encode

 

token + skyblaster = Proxy Dragon

token 2 = Link spider

proxy + Spider = Encode

 

and you have an extra token in EMZ encode's second linked zone

 

It's not good, but entirely possible.

 

my question is why wouldn't you just go for Firewall + Good card that mutual links (trigate prob, though it still requires some ED devotion to make) it for less ED devotion

Which is why one should run tripple exodius in a pure link deck, considering links are more rewarding than other mechanics for laddering.

Exodius won't do sheet. It is a do nothing play that kills consistency and isn't reliable in itself.
