Fyre Festival turns into chaos

You've all probably heard this by now, but whatever. Personally, I feel that it's both hilarious that such a thing could happen and also sad for the people who fell into this trap. (There is now a lawsuit for 100 million for this, btw, but this article doesn't address)

Some questions that should be asked (if this was supposed to be a legitimate event):

• About how long in advance did the organizers plan this event? Given the scope of this, should've been at least a couple years to at least draw up plans for how the rooms would look like and get everything in order.
• Did they actually consult with an engineering firm to see if stuff would hold up, and also construction companies to actually do it.

Right now, it does appear that the organizer failed to plan how this should've came out.

Ja Rule is a funking savage.  The jabroni fooled people out of hundreds of thousands of dollars for sandwiches with no bread, FEMA tents, and a concert with no performers.  Holy sheet.

Holy hell the disaster here is absurd. From what I read it felt like it's doomed/untrustworthy from the start but at least it's still not as bad as Woodstock '99.

This wasn't a scam. It was just an immense failure.

 

I wish it was a scam. People willing to spend $12k on a blink 182 concert really should get some perspective.
