Resident Fascist
[Weapon]: Nemesis Launcher[Right Click, hold]: Activate Missile locking mode. A tone is heard whilst in locking mode. When a lock has been achieved, the reticle changes shape and the tone becomes solid.[Left Click]: Fire. If locked on, the Missile will track the target. The missile will become independent of the Nemesis lock about 2 seconds after launch ("Pit bull"). Missiles can be avoided by various countermeasures, such as breaking Line of Sight with the missile. Missiles deal large Area of Effect damage and immediately break all shields they come into contact with. Nemesis Launcher cannot be fired without a lock.[Magazine size: 1][Reload time: 6s][secondary Weapon]: Deadlock Pistol[Left Mouse]: Fire.[Magazine Size: 12][Reload time: 1.25s][LShift]: Surveillance DroneLaunches a Surveillance Drone that lasts 60s or until destroyed. The Drone moves around the map and its view can be activated by pressing LShift again. While in Drone view, the Nemesis Launcher can be locked on a target by hovering over them and holding Right Mouse. WASD moves the drone manually. Press LShift to disengage.[CD: 22s][Q]: Air StrikeTarget an area on the map. After a short delay, two jets fly over the map and drop two bombs. The bombs deal large AOE damage. Air Strike can be targetted in Drone View.Achievements:[Pixel Spray]: Uncle SAMAs ( ), hit an Airborne Pharah or Mercy with the Nemesis Launcher.[Cute Spray]: Bunker BusterAs ( ), kill 3 enemies in 1 use of Air Strike. Darj
Not sure if serious, but I find the concept really cool. Reminds me of Snake from Smash Bros. Brawl. I'm guessing the AoE from Airstrike would be as big as Mei's special, or much bigger? Are you planning to develop it more, like coming up with a name, backstory, etc.? The AoE is roughly the size of Mei's ultimate, yeah. The damage is consistent throughout the entire zone. When Air Strike is used, there's a visible green smoke tracer for allies, and a visible red tracer for enemies. Delay between activation and jets actually dropping the bombs is roughly 1.25 seconds. As for name, backstory and quotes, yes. Where's the artwork matey? artist's representation of Uncle SAM achievement

Now, if you don't mind discussing this airstrike special a bit, it occurred to me that it wouldn't be as effective in maps with a lot of indoor zones so... have you thought in perhaps making it as some sort of napalm-like attack that spreads fire or whatever so it gets to cover said indoor zones? That would be quite cool IMO.
Resident Fascist
That's great. I will look forward to the character development. I mean, the concept of the hero is that they are countered by standing under ledges, much like Pharah. The way the Missiles work is they fire at a very high angle (like 75 degrees or more) and head up into the sky before going Pitbull and coming down to track the target. If you point the Launcher up, the angle is increased further and the missile comes down faster when it tracks. The missiles also have incredibly long range, almost the range of one side of Ilios-Ruins to the next. Going underneath a ledge while a Missile is tracking you will not immediately break the lock, the Missile will instead track to your Last Known Location until it picks up the target again, because Missiles do splash damage in a wide area, this means you don't have to score direct hits to get kills. Locking takes roughly 2 seconds and is done by pointing the Launcher Beam or Drone's camera at the enemy. As you lock, you will receive a bar on screen like when you're capping a point with something like "LOCK IN PROGRESS..." written under it. Launcher reload speed is likely too fast for this type of weapon. The reload animation would involve:placing the Launcher on the floor, opening the missile port, removing the primer from the previous missile, inserting a new primer and missile, closing the missile port, and picking the Launcher back up. I doubt that could be done in 6 seconds. One stylistic thing I thought of was the primer for the missile being ejected out of the top of the gun as it fires. Additionally, when the Launcher is fired, there is a very visible smoke effect, as well as a smoke trail from the missile itself while it burns on it's engine. Missiles have 350 health, 50 armour. They can be "headshotted" by shooting the tip of the Missile. Hero's working name is Yaeger, after US Air Force Ace Chuck Yaeger, although I doubt that will be the final name. Yaeger also has 350 health, but has 75 armour, bringing his total health up to 425. He is a defence hero. 3 star difficulty. A few of the working quotes, many based on military equipment or references. Fire Nemesis Launcher:"FOX 4!" (After US Airforce Radio Lingo, "FOX 1/2/3" refers to air to air missiles being fired.) Reloading:"Romeo, Epsilon Lima Oscar Alpha Delta." (NATO phonetic for "reload") Launching Drone:"Eyes in the sky.""I'm watching you.""Drone deployed." Missile Lock:"Got Tone." ("Tone" refers to the missile lock tone, also aviation lingo)"Bandit locked.""Radar lock.""Yaeger, engaging Bandits." Kill Enemy Hero:"Splash one." (Aviation lingo)"Murica.'" "Arizona. Arizona." (NATO phonetic for a successful hit on target.) Double Kill:"We'll just call that... Collateral Damage.""Splash two.""TACCOM, Tangos down, proceeding to objective. Over." Triple Kill:"Splash Three.""Too easy.""Got'em." Quadruple Kill:"Splash four.""Damn." Quintuple Kill:"Splash Five.""Ace in a day.""It's not too late to give up, you know." Team Kill:"Splash Six.""TACCOM, all targets destroyed, RTB. Over." Airstrike (Ally):"Callin' in the Thunder!""Yaeger to Eagles, ground support requested. Out." Airstrike (Enemy):"Callin' in the Thunder!""I'd get to cover if I were you." Ultimate Charging:"Airstrike unavailable." (Comes from the pilots of the jets) Ultimate Nearly Charged:"Eagles entering engagement zone." (Jet pilot) Ultimate Ready:"Eagles on station." (Jet pilot) Hero Specific quotes:"Ninjas? Sorry. I prefer Pirates." (To Genji)"Howdy." (To McCree)"Watch your wings out there." (To Pharah)"Morrison? Ain't you supposed to be a dead man?" (To Soldier: 76)"Cut the crap." (To Reaper)"A hacker? Nerds don't belong on the front lines, darlin'" (To Sombra)"Time-travel all you like, you still can't get your tea back." (To Tracer) "I need your bird, your memory chip and your identification number." (To Bastion)"Bows? So last century." (To Hanzo)"Sorry, I'm gonna have to turn you in." (To Junkrat)"Do they make knockoffs of my launcher back home?" (To Mei)"Just remember, in any war, they go for the Engineers first." (To Torbjorn"Viva Le France." (To Widowmaker)"Urgh. They'll give those to any little ingrate these days." (To D.Va) "Keeping the peace? Leave that to me." (To Orisa)"That's a nice barrier you've got there. It'd be a shame if anyone were to direct a XF-19 Hunter Missile at it." (to Reinhardt)"BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT." (To Roadhog)"Aww hell. When we said R&D are a bunch of apes, we didn't mean literally." (To Winston)"In mother Russia... America still kicks your ass." (to Zarya) "Thanks doc." (To Ana)"It's a Battleground, not a playground." (To Lucio)"Watch for vultures." (To Mercy)"Your fancy tech is nice and all, but a missile to the face tends to work just fine." (To Symmetra)"Pfft. Go back to the mountains." (To Zenyatta)

Resident Fascist
It's a more broken Pharah. Nah. Nothing like Pharah. Also, the idea is that you can see the missile coming, and have plenty of time to get to cover. They're a backline support and position holder, not an offence hero. With the 12 second reload I proposed on Nemesis Launcher, it takes at least 14 seconds to get a missile in the air. Additionally this hero has a massive zone of fire, but the zone of effective fire looks more like this: Essentially, Yaeger is a pick against Tank comps with slow heroes. He excels at getting enemies off a payload. The missiles can be shot in flight, are very visible and are about the same speed as Orisa's Halt! when they don't have any fuel left (which is expended shortly after launch). Put simply, Yaeger cannot do much of anything at close range, while the Nemesis Launcher is a fire and forget weapon, the ideal gameplay for Yaeger involves moving around after each shot, as a huge smoke cloud is generated as the Nemesis Launcher fires, giving away it's position. Additionally, Yaeger lacks any real movement abilities. Drone can be shot, and Airstrike gives a huge warning before landing. If you die to Yaeger, it should be your shitty positioning or him outplaying you. He's the closest thing to a Surface-To-Air Missile site in Overwatch. He's for a slower, more position based meta, or to discourage usage of Snipers.
