Zauls
Theresa May, the current British Prime Minister, has announced a snap General Election to be held on June 8th, less than 2 months from now. Just a few months ago, after she became the leader of the Conservative Party and Prime Minister after the resignation of David Cameron, as the only nominee for the position, she stated there would not be a General Election until 2020. Her reasoning for the u-turn include the opposition parties "disrupting" the process of leaving the EU by opposing the government's vision of Brexit and their negotiating strategy. The majority of the House of Commons voted to trigger Article 50. This is news and shouldn't need to be moved to Debates, but if peoples' opinions become too much for others to deal with, feel free to move it.
