Birthday Cake

So, money's a bit tight, and no one could really afford to do anything for my birthday. I paid for us to eat out on my bday (the 30th), and didn't really get a cake then, though mom said she wanted to make one for my bday.

 

My mom and sister spent all day working on a cake, forcing me to stay in my room today, so I wouldn't see it. Plus dragging me around last night to gather some stuff to make the cake. They asked me what I wanted, and I said IDK, Devil's Food or Birthday Cake. I had no idea what was up.

 

So this was the cake.

 

It's a bit juvenile, but... It meant a lot to me when I saw it. It wasn't something I expected. My whole family loves that series, though it always stood out more with me, and it was just a way to remind me of the good in life, the joy to be had. And to do something for me, because she couldn't really do anything else right now.

 

She found a kit a few weeks back and bought it in preparation for my bday, so that she could do something. I don't like receiving money, which gparents gave me 20... I like things with thought, so it made me super happy, and I'm just in a really good mood now.

 

And look at how much effort they put into that. It is, in fact, half of each kind of cake I said (little too sweet, tho), with marbling in the middle.

 

They kept apologizing that the bottom left had melted a little, but really, I don't mind. It's perfect the way it is.

I saw the real cake and you know that's pretty nice but you're younger than I thought.

 

I also didn't say happy birthday because I didn't remember and Skype reminded me but that would have been fake so I decided to take the responsibility of not remembering on my shoulders. Now I can say it, so happy birthday Blaq. Hopefully I'll still know you when those numbers are reversed too.
