This is my 5th consecutive post in the last 17 days, so I hope this isn't a big issue, but onto a little update:

I've been meaning to do something with 2 of my characters for a while, the ones from my Halloween drawing.

The concept I've come up with is a somewhat episodic comic idea.
As such, I've been coming up with several ideas for spells, magic items, and their rules and limitations.
I've been trying to doodle an overview of the general area/setting, which I need to refine better as I go.
I've also tried to come up with more designs for people in this sort of children's book art style....
I also have some whimsical elements and myth ideas, since I do plan to include my giraffe and the deer from my profile header, along with other designs that are lazily sketched at the corners of paper I use for other unrelated things (like Yugioh cards).

I'm currently struggling to find a plot element that I can include to give me some sense of progression in my plan, and some people could say I might be working backwards, that the story would come first and then everything else be designed around it, but I've always been messy like that... I might not end up being able to start and flesh out anything in the near foreseeable future. Just wanted to make some sort of journal of one of the things I've been working on.

Hopefully I can come up with more to work on. The idea of making illustrations of the same sort of quality as that drawing that back in September added up to 16 hours of work sounds like madness, but I'd love to do something like that xD

So, I'm not much of an artist as that has typically been my brother's department. Today though, I thought I'd buck that trend and draw something.

Don't worry, everybody has problems with feet. I'd say if I draw a full body character, hands and feet are like 80% of my struggle to this day xD

I'd say it is a pretty good start if you don't really draw often or at all. One of these days I should post some of my worst pieces (which were not made like that on purpose when I made them) haha.

Although I'll clarify that I don't really have a member list somewhere. One of the concepts I had in mind at the time of making this club is that anybody interested in coming in and posting is welcomed to do so. Be it people that wanna come in to ask for a request or suggest/perform a challenge, or want to post their drawings.

Ideally, I wanna make this place homey and relaxing. No people feeling rushed or urged to post something for the sake of it.

Yea, that "back" foot creeps me out. XD The eyes kinda do too, so add that to the struggle list. But yeah, I thought I'd try a basic pencil drawing. The shading would have been better if I wasn't using a single mechanical pencil, but I did what I could and it turned out okay. I may need to get colored pencils.

 

Oh, I did draw a few posters back in high school for a student council election. I don't have any pictures unfortunately, and I don't remember how well they were received.

I bought some colored pencils today, so I decided to redraw my duck. Colors used are Golden Yellow, Green, Gray, and Light Brown.

There's some progress to mention xD
The previous one was just pencil but this one has color pencils used, and I can see it is less textured/rough than the previous one, with a little bit of shading under the wing.

 

I kind of wanna dig around for some of my sketches to upload here myself. Lately I've been a bit more hesitant to bring up my drawings when they are not full fledged colored and detailed ones, but I have a bunch of small notebooks with random doodles, and I feel a little bit inspired now haha.

Well, I did just use a mechanical pencil for the first one: 0.5mm lead iirc. The feet are still awful, but at least the wing looks a bit more like a wing and the eye looks better. Also, it looks more refined. XD

Random Sketch again. I've been too lenient on the brush pen to make up for my worsening grip, so tried to make something small in size with a 0.05 pen.

At that scale, every time my pulse shakes I'll notice it.

I thought I'd go for something different today, so I tried a landscape drawing. The lake could have been done better along with the ground and trees, but I think I did well. Colors used: Sky Blue, Light Blue, Aqua Green, Jade Green, Tan, Mahogany, Yellow, and White.

I cannot identify the place where you used the white.

 

 

Not a bad piece of practice. It has a little bit of an aerial view.

You can't see the white because I was being an idiot when trying to make clouds with it. XD

Working on my app for the Medarot RP, and decided to try and redraw a Medarot. Original idea was to draw my own, but I liked this design a lot.

Yeah, that is supposed to be a military uniform on her (well, at least the type that get used for ceremonial / special division). I did base it off of the riding version one, but that's probably because I have a better idea on how riding uniforms look like (from vector art) than I do with general military outfits; also less badges to add.

Left sleeve reads 空佐 (kūsa, or term used for the Japan SDF Air Force members at colonel rank); ribbon has kanji for "6" (which should correlate to the pay scale for them in the USA as O-6 if the info I got from their website is correct.)

The left arm positioning is kinda bleh, but I wanted her to have it extended.

 

Also, it's intended to be female but I guess it looks more tomboyish. 

 

 

 

 

 

I am going to make card art out of it, but first I need to make a vector from the pic; then decide on an appropriate background. (I should really start using those color pencils I have, or ink out the outline once I finish so coloring is easier)

Yeah, rabbit-themed Synchros with an Air Force theme. There's another one that I need to draw art for, which I suspect will be more stylized because it's a higher Level (and top of the Air Force ranking)

Just for added info, the general Army and Navy were referenced as anthro-themed cards in the past (and I did the art for them too). I can post it later if you want, but the latter one is technically weirder.

Does that card let you choose both the targets for attacks AND effects from the opponent's monsters? That sounds pretty nice. I especially like the ricocheting effect it does with that xD
Don't worry about double-posting. If you have new stuff to bring up, it's all good for me.... Also at some point up there I think I made like 5 posts in a row so I wouldn't be one to talk anyways haha.

It turned out pretty nicely. Maybe her sleeves get a little too wide at the end, but that could also be her getting a little lax on the buttons xP

 

 

 

 

And Dova's Medabot looks like something that could be an official design.... Or maybe it is and I just don't know. I used to watch the cartoons but I never played any of its games.
