With me, it's tap the A button about every time the Pokeball makes a movement.

the rare times that I played the pocket monsters when I was a kid i funking spammed the sheet out of buttons, heard it helped catch 'em.

I personally ALWAYS, WITHOUT FAIL, mash the A button like NUTS until the ball catches it.

 

I'm superstitious like that, tbh.

I always figure if I just stare at it hard enough it'll work. Hasn't let me down yet.

Same. Personally trying to break this habit, but it seems that when I don't do it, I can't catch anything.
