The Nyx Avatar
The intent with this card was to give WATER monsters a Level 5 option for Synchro Summoning, since right now they only have Crystron Ametrix and Sea Dragon Lord Gishilodon. Something that perhaps Atlanteans and Mermails could benefit from (albeit indirectly), as opposed to the aforementioned existing options. WATERLevel 5Sea Serpent/Synchro/EffectATK:2000DEF:20001 WATER Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner WATER monstersOther face-up Sea Serpent-Type monsters you control cannot be targeted for attacks or by your opponent's card effects. Once per turn: You can discard 1 card; increase this card's ATK by 1000 until your next Standby Phase.
Black D'Sceptyr
1) NAYCE. 2) Believe 2 of these could benefit each other too. Feels a bit like an estranged cousin to the Ice Barrer monsters. Never underestimate overlapping protection in strong enough groups, Dinomist preys on that rule. 3) Still not sure how far 1000 ATK goes. Maybe approriating the ATK of the discarded monster would help instead, let it get over some more pressing threats (coughUtopiaTheLightningcough). 4) AGAIN NAYCE. Good work Nyx. However, let's say your hand runs dry of monsters. That's mainly why its cost is generic.
GarlandChaos
I'd say it's a decent card. Don't quite remember a lot of what Mermatlanteans can and can't do, so bare with me while I attempt to go into detail. Non-generic materials is a bit of a shame, and it could honestly get away with the WATER restriction being removed. Protection is nice though, but I don't rightly remember what Sea Serpent monsters the deck wants to keep on the field outside of...Poseidra, I guess? Bahamut Shark as well I suppose. Pretty sure the deck can make it. That last effect I feel would be a lot more useful if it could be activated during either player's turn, but I understand the design behind it. (Atlanteans and Mermails gain effects if they're sent to the Grave, iirc) Having a 3000 ATK beatstick is always nice though, regardless of it not having any self-protection. But yeah, a decent card, I'd say.
Fruiota_Hiroshi
I like what you've created, and the name seems fitting considering it doesn't let your other Sea Serpents get hurt. My only suggestion is that you should include Sea Serpent-type as one of the requirements for its Summoning instead of having both the Tuner and the non-Tuner(s) be WATER. It would make Summoning it a bit more difficult, to balance out how powerful it really is, as well as tie in the whole Sea Serpent-type more closely. From what I know of Atlanteans and Mermails, they either have Sea Serpents in their archetypes or work well when you add some generic WATER Sea Serpents, so this wouldn't strongly affect Summoning your Sea Emperor of Legend.
