Ryusei the Morning Star
It's about time this happens. Honestly I do it cause I wanna raise awareness, but there's a section for that that I think we should resort to. IDK how many people like Dolphin are turned off by it, but I'd assume a fair few
Fusion X. Denver
Eh, I don't see a reason to do that. The point of status updates is it lets you express any given thought you have at the time (so long as it's appropriate like no porn) and I see no merit in placing restrictions upon that. If people aren't interested in politics, they can either keep scrolling past the update or block that user if that member's updates annoy them that much. Fusion X. Denver
Blocks don't cover statuesReally? I didn't realize, never blocked someone before.I feel like that should be implemented if possible. I still say nay for the other reasons. I don't think it's a big enough issue where ignoring it isn't sufficient enough.

But IK laz got super upset he couldn't block out deadpool and me in statuses If there is a way to do it, I'm not aware of it. I don't think it's needed, but clearly it's driving people away
Delibirb
Or we could discourage intentionally antagonistic/inflammatory political statuses, because the problem isn't the content, but the delivery.
IQuitDolphin
Banning outright would be censorship, which might work in result but not so much in principle. The thing to keep in mind is that this is still a site devoted to YGO, which is played by mostly younger people. Politics, by nature, is a very volatile topic, and it just doesn't fit with the website's look and feel. I'm fine with politics on the status bar and the forums, but I would very much like it to be done in moderation, and preferably sandboxed within the politics section. So, do I want politics gone from status bar? Yes, but that's my selfish opinion. Realistically I just don't want to see politics leaking every time I check up on YCM. I already go to many other places for my politics fix.
Dad
MFW Y/Debates is leaking. This was brought up in the past, by different parties. I'm going to personally monitor this thread to see how it develops and I'm hoping to see some fruitful discussion as to why we should or shouldn't implement a ban of politics in the status bar. But if even that is driving people like Dolphin that we badly need in the forum atm, then I'm happy to cut it out
