Halubaris Maphotika
In this age of "Fake" and "Alternative" news. Clickbait and blogs. It can be hard to obtain real facts in a plethora of madness and nonsense. From Fox to CNN, Breitbart to Jezebel, Al Jazeera to Huffington Post, post your opinions on which news sites are valid and which go against the journalistic standard of "facts", if there are any. Also, inquire on this; is all media biased? If so, can we trust them? Is News inherently lies or are they simply misunderstood? Does the media need a massive restructuring or are we fine where we are?
a bad post
Everything is inherently biased. No matter what someone says everything we write has some sort of bias associated with it, and people who say they are unbiased are quite frankly lying. The important thing isn't finding news that's unbiased, but being able to recognize those biases and approaching everything we consume with a critical eye. The important thing isn't finding news that's unbiased, but being able to recognize those biases and approaching everything we consume with a critical eye. ...Which sadly many people still lack: an ability to cognitize bias and recognize the critical importance of these situations. I will say that there are a lot of news outlets that try to convey actual news without stretching any information or creating libel/slander, and there are some people should stay away from like Fox News and Daily Mail. But in the end people don't have time to consider things in the critical eye because of most of the time the news likely doesn't affect or concern them and in other cases they are overwhelmed with emotion. epicmemesbro
Personally, if I had to choose between the two extremes in the most absolute answer regarding the news; That being choosing either having the press solely being used as a mouthpiece for the state, or having partisan media with a few instances of "fake news" here and there, I would definitely choose the latter. vla1ne
to paraphrase a beautiful youtube head named vernaculis: "not everybody has the time to verify everything they hear, and they often need to rely on the news for the quick and dirty, lying to these people damages their understanding of a subject. instead of trying to increase the amount of people researching the news, try to make the news as accurate as possible." but since i'm not as good at vernaculis this late at night/early in the morning ha can do it for me: just saying this here, if you don't have the time to watch this video, or even if you did, then please reread my first paraphrase, hopefully you can now understand why i (and vernaculis) said what we did.
