The Mystery Duelist (First Bash at Fan Fiction)

“Jaden, Jaden! Come quick!” Screamed Syrus as he threw open the Slifer Red Dorm door in a panic. “Just 5 more minutes.....” Mumbled Jaden as he .pulled his small blanket over his head and gave a little yawn. “Jaden! You are coming with me..... RIGHT NOW!” Syrus yanked the blanket off of Jaden and pulled him to his feet. “Hey what gives!” Jaden said in surprise and with a little anger in his voice. “I'll tell you on the way... Come on!” Syrus yanked Jaden by the arm out of the Dorm and towards Duel Academy.

 

“So this is where the best Duelist resides.....” A voice said out loud as he walked into the Academy Complex. “What is the meaning of this!?” A High pitched voice screamed from most of the way across the entrance hall. “How dare you turn up uninvited! Chancellor Sheppard, Dispose of this intruder!” Crowler said as he glared at the mystery person who had just showed up. “Not until I duel the best.....” The duelist suddenly threw off the cloak he was wearing, “The name's Rex Raptor and I'm here for some Dino Demolition on the one they call Zane Truesdale! Now where is he!?” Rex shook his clenched fist in anger. “Zane?” Crowler said in confusion, “Well Zane had a little accident.... And he doesn't reside at the academy anymore....” Crowler tried to hold back the hurt but his voice said it differently.

 

“Dr Crowler!” Syrus called out as he ran into the entrance hall dragging Jaden across the floor behind him. “You said you needed to see Jaden about something!” He said catching his breath. “That can wait.... This man here has come to duel your brother....” Crowler wiped a tear from his eyes. “My brother? Zane?” Syrus looked at Rex with sadness in his eyes. “You haven't seen the news have you?” He said as a tear ran down his cheek. “M-My brother had an accident.... From dueling too much....” Syrus was sobbing as he spoke. “Syrus...” Jaden put a reassuring arm on Syrus's shoulder, “Why are you thinking of Zane in a bad way Buddy? Remember the totally sweet duels we had with him?” Jaden smiled at Syrus he was like a little brother to him. “Y-Yeah....” Syrus wiped the tears from his eyes. “Man you are so pathetic!” Rex suddenly shouted out loud with a laugh. “Are we going to Duel or are you going to stand there sniveling like a little brat!?” Rex brought out his Duel Disk placing it on his arm.

 

“I'll take this creep on!” Jaden said as he walked in front of Syrus. “No Jaden! This is my fight and mine alone!” Syrus gave a Confident smile to Jaden as he brought his Duel Disk out.
