Wahrheit
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/movies/oscars-2017-nominees-ballot.html This thread is categorically not for political discussions. I'm pretty stoked Moonlight got nominated. It was one of my favorite movies this year. La La Land, Loving, and Hidden Figures were also all really good. mitchermitcher
Kimi no na wa/Your name. not being nominated for Animated Feature is some bs considering it's been breaking records every other week or so ever since it aired. I'm not asking for it to win even though it's totally the best film ever made but god it's more than qualified enough to get a spot.
Ryusei the Morning Star
I'm super excited for Kubo and R1, and hope they each take an oscar home
Maeriberii Haan
Only a limited screening in LA probably didn't give it enough buzz in the west to give it the chance to be considered enough for a nomination. Hoping for Kubo win here.

(GigaDrillBreaker)
As much as I want Doctor Strange to get it for visual effects (honestly some gorgeous artistic use there) I think Jungle Book will get it. Hoping for Arrival for best picture, Emma Stone (La La Land) for actress in leading role, and Chazelle (La La Land) for best director. For actor in a Leading Role I REALLY want Andrew Garfield to get it. His performance in Hacksaw Ridge exceeded every expectation.

(GigaDrillBreaker)
Is there no love for Kubo here :(Best animated film is honestly a toss-up between it, Moana, and Zootopia. All three were incredible.
Johan Liebert
I didn't see very many movies from last year (I pretty much only watched Doctor Strange and Rogue One), but I have a few predictions; granted, these are very bold considering I only watched the two aforementioned movies from last year and nothing else. Zootopia will win the "Best Animated Feature Film" Oscar. Even though Doctor Strange had amazing visual effects (I got to see it in IMAX 3D, so maybe I'm a bit overly partial in favor of this movie), Rogue One will probably win the Oscar, although pretty much all of the nominations here deserve it (from what I've heard and seen). La La Land will win less than half of the Oscars it was nominated for. Arrival won't win any of the "big five" Oscars. Hacksaw Ridge will only win one Oscar. Meryl Streep won't win the "Best Actress" Oscar she was nominated for.
