Continuous Spell

When a Fusion Monster on the field is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon from your Graveyard 1 of the Fusion Material Monsters that you used for the Fusion Summon of that Fusion Monster.

Use it in Ancient Gear Howitzer spam.dek!

Use it in Metalfoes to pop your Metalfoes Fusions with the scale effects and get back 1 of its materials :v

But seriously, it is inconvenient how it relies on the Fusion going to the grave, and the material being in the grave; makes it difficult to play with Pendulums nor won't net a refund if the Fusion doesn't end in the grave after being destroyed.

I doubt it would be good to play it anywhere because of its dependence on, like, 3 things:

- Your ability to Fusion Summon

- Your Fusion being successfully destroyed and sent to grave

- At least 1 Fusion material being in the grave, and 1 that it's worth of bringing back, otherwise you may as well not bother.

Back in the day we had this solid idea that would have been really cool and fun to have, had it not been divided into 2 cards that end up falling short in different ways.

The other card I'm talking about is Centrifugal Field.

Centrifugal Field's pros:
-Doesn't miss the timing

-Field Spell = Searchable

-Material "listed" (Doesn't care if you used a substitute or if the monster was even Fusion Summoned at all)

Branch!'s pros:
-Can stack up (most Fusions are 2 material ones anyways so this only helps so much)

-Doesn't care if destroyed by battle or effect

-Material "used" (Doesn't care if your Fusions have generic ones like Omni HERO Fusions or Shaddolls, so long as you used them for the Fusion Summon).

^

Both were on to something, but whenever I ever tried using either, it never worked. It doesn't help that Elemental HEROes were the only deck capable of going for it, and maybe old school dragons (except BEWD still didn't exist in the TCG iirc, but King Dragoon was a thing 12 years ago). One would have needed a card with the best qualities of both combined to make it worthwhile. Nowadays on top of that it'd also need extra pros going for it to make it worthwhile.

The most notable thing is that it isn't once per turn, but with the amount of setup it requires, that's pretty much meaningless. You also need the card to go to the Graveyard and grab from the Graveyard no matter what... This is troublesome.

Plus, back in the day it was neat if you could bring back something like a Red-Eyes (vanilla) or Summoned Skull or Blue-Eyes through it. That nowadays is no longer the "OMG you brought a big monster out!" kind of play but rather just an inefficient and situational way to bring out monsters which are no longer AS impressive by themselves.

Hypothetical card with a searchable name:

Something Something Fusion (By Konami's logic, this would probably not be a temporary place-holder name)

[Continuous Spell Card]

If a Fusion Monster in your possession is destroyed: You can target 1 Fusion Material Monster in your Graveyard that is listed on that Fusion Monster OR that was used for the Fusion Summon of that Fusion Monster; Special Summon it.

^It'd probably also need either a bonus like "and if you do, draw 1 card" or a way to help the Fusion Summon itself. I'd probably opt for something along the lines of "and if you do, you can add 1 Polymerization from your Graveyard to your hand".
