[spoiler=spoiler]Interestingly enough, Grima is gonna show up. I wonder how this will be linked to Awakening. I'm guessing this will set up some background lore (Gaiden takes place between Shadow Dragon and New Mystery, so a real long funking time before Awakening) on a lot of stuff since Awakening didn't really cover that sort of thing. A Grima origin would be kickass.

But yeah, they have art for the other FE characters with Smash amiibos, I'm guessing you can summon them as Einherjar or something from the amiibos?

 

Also, opening cutscene:

Sonia looks great, plus I sense the designers were watching Yugioh 5d's when designing the dead guys. You know, the Dark Signers.

 

Palla looks different compared to her look in Heroes. Speaking of who will voice her, Laura Bailey or Alexis Tipton?

 

It's Ike.

 

And a Grima origin sounds cool.

Well at least now I won't be sad that I don't actually have Ike's amiibo (only Lucina's) if it's that minor an addition.

Yeah, from what it looks like they're really only good for acting as a decoy so you don't lose a unit or lowering a boss' health so you can make a finishing blow

Interestingly it appears Marth and Roy can both KO Duma with their weapons were only Alm and Nosferatu could do it in the original game

So I've been hearing a bit about Faye due to her upcoming appearance in Heroes. She actually wasn't in Gaiden and is an SoV original, so this is all what I've read second-hand that people have gotten from leaks.

 

[spoiler=Faye Personality]So apparently she's to Alm what Catria and Cordelia are to Marth and Chrom, respectively, but she also has a tinge of Tharja/Camilla sort of obsessiveness. Now, that's completely different from what I would've expected just from looking at her, but I find the juxtaposition only makes her character more compelling. She could've just as easily been the nice childhood friend villager girl. Now whether her character is actually executed well, I'll have to wait and see until SoV comes out over here and I can delve into her supports and stuff, but she seems interesting from what little I know.

She looks so innocent though. Doubt she'd go down the dark path.

Honestly, Faye's character is probably the worst off in all of SoV just because of how badly the game treats her. She's not a terribly written character by any means, but it's a damn shame that they created a character to abuse her that badly. Like Catria and Cordelia she's in love with Alm, but not only does she confess to him after he turns her down (I mean obviously cause he has to marry Celica), but she spends the rest of her life in Ram village hoping that one day he'll come back to her. If I'm being perfectly honest it really bothers me how badly the game treats her.

It would be hard for her to go anywhere to be honest. With how faithful SoV is to Gaiden despite expanding on everything, there is little room for Faye to not get funked over as a new character. Though Berkut and his fiance was handled really well on the other hand.

 

She's easily one of the worst in the cast but it's not due bad writing maybe, just that the angle they're going with left them with barely any room to not funk her over.

After reading her supports and ending translation so far and some discussion about her, I actually like the angle they're going with her. Unlike the other villagers who manages to move on after the war and achieve better things (unless someone really close to them die), Faye is someone that never really moved on from her old life. She joins the Deliverance mainly due to her childhood crush, but still always have settling comfortably in her village with her love in her mind, and never really able to get past that even after Alm pretty much choose Celica. They could have expanded this a lot more if they give her more supports that give her a chance to portray things outside of her feeling and obsession from Alm, and hell, a Celica support for Ch.6 (some people do have Ch.6 exclusive supports so it can be done) would've done a lot to her.

 

Also a funny trivia, she's so obsessed with Alm that her support bonus with Alm has her lose Avoid, probably the only time in any game this happened.

Why not have Faye just marry someone else.

 

Hey writers, give her a happy ending with someone else, chop-chop.

I mean she doesn't have to marry someone to have a nice ending... but leaving her hung up on Alm like that is just cruel...

 

Everyone else has married others.

 

Such is the fate of adding a side character into a game with established cast.

She could've married Kliff or someone who didn't have a paired ending in the original game

Honestly, she's one hell of a terrible person but I actually like her as a character. Manipulative, conniving, creepily attached, can't move on, obsessive, all that jazz, but she's not over the top so (although honestly her obsession trumps even Tharja's). She's a rotten scum but I appreciate having someone like that around.

Well, The game is out today. And Laura Bailey will not be reprising her role as Palla, instead Alexis Tipton will voice her.

But Tara Sands will voice Sonya.

 

 

Other than that, there may not be a weapon triangle, but apparently Alm can use Axes when he promotes to the DLC Conqueror class.

 

As for my villager sets, What do you guys think I should go for?

The maps...really is still the same Gaiden I know, which is sheet.

 

It's going to be the dealbreaker for a lot of people. I played Gaiden so I can deal with the maps, but I'd imagine a lot of people not being a fan of the game due to it.

 

So far my run has been pretty fun though. Presentation and writing's really great so far, the characters are fun, etc.

Anyway, I plan on getting it tomorrow, along with the dlc, I don't plan on getting it all, just the upgrade maps, the cipher characters, the prologue maps and the easy maps. How may blocks will that require? I may need another SD card, and an Amiboo reader too. I have the special XY 3ds.

NO! I meant What is your source for the Binding Blade remake?

 

I got my answer already.

Anyway, on to Echoes. It would be awesome to have tier 3 units again, and it is a faithful remake, but for me to get the DLC, I'll either have to get another sd card for my 3ds, or sacrifice some files. I gad to sacrifice Phoenix Wright Dual Destinies for the Pokemon Sun and Moon Demo, I'll have to sacrifice that for whatever I can fit on it.

 

Anyway, I should make a Binding Blade Remake thread so that this one isn't swamped with rumors of such.
