Obama commutes the bulk of Chelsea Manning's sentence

Which is still a win for him, because it proves Assange as being full of crap, and ends up discrediting wikileaks a little.

So win win I'd say.

Only for people who are rational, most of whom don't like Wikileaks already because of their sheet practices. I mean, you're right, I just don't think it really changes anything, unfortunately.

Not quite, the FBI and USIC affirmed the validity of everything Wikileaks put out, they 100% accuracy claim is still valid. So while you may discredit them on assange's word, you cannot discredit their publication

Next, why would Assange come back before Trump is inaugurated? And did Obama offer clemency, or a commutation of Manning's term? If he comes back now, all that's gonna happen is the Dems and war-hawks will put his head on a spike to get back at Trump winning

SHILLARY INTENSIFIES

Wikileaks releases the truth about the crimes in Iraq and every single Progressive under the sun praises them.

But they reveal all of the sh*tty things Hillary did and now you turn on them?

Their releases were PROVEN FACT. It isn't a sh*t practice, you're just mad because your sh*tty candidate lost because she was shady, dishonest, and not a good nominee for the Democratic Party.

Don't worry, I've always been opposed to WikiLeaks, regardless of the content.

I'll take your word for it.

To be fair, I am slightly opposed to Wikileaks as well. However, I will justify their reveals of the atrocities in Iraq, and the corrupt schemings by Hillary Clinton.

Also, I couldn't care less what side your on. I ain't worried for anything.

Obama did something good on the way out. Nice.

Democratic partisan hacks are the ones who do that. Not progressives.

I've always been 100% pro-Wikileaks. I don't like the fact that they contributed to the loss of my bronze-medal candidate, but I'd rather Trump win than the truth continue to have been obfuscated.

If the public figurehead becomes tainted with mistrust, said mistrust can pass onto the thing they are figurehead for. It's not fair or particularly accurate, but it can happen because it provides an easy dismissal to the general public which some may desire.

Or they'll put his head on a spike because they've wanted his head on a spike for a long-ass time. Parts of both side of the isle I imagine. Wikileaks has been a pain in many politicians backsides, and they would be glad to see it gone. It doesn't have to be in response to Trump winning; I imagine if Assange had declared 'I'll come back if you pardon Chelsea Manning' if Clinton was the next president Obama would do it, because Manning for Asange is an amazing trade; Manning had already served 7 years so commutation has precluded punishment for actions that endangered the lives of servicemen (Because her actions did endanger the lives of servicemen) but it points out that the sentance was ureasonably large.

Either he comes back, and gets punished because I imagine there is across the aisle support to do so, or he doesn't and he loses face. Either way, it's a win win for Obama and the government.
