Darj
Chocolate Magician GirlAttribute: WATERType: Spellcaster/EffectLevel: 4ATK: 1600DEF: 1000Once per turn: You can discard 1 Spellcaster-Type monster; draw 1 card. Once per turn, if this card is targeted for an attack: You can target 1 Spellcaster-Type monster in your Graveyard, except "Chocolate Magician Girl"; Special Summon it, then change the attack target to it, and if you do, the attacking monster's ATK becomes half its current ATK. Randomly posting this thread about her because I feel she may be being overlooked, underrated, or whatever the appropriate term it is. I mean, she adds a bit of speed to Spellcaster decks, her effect seems to be actually effective at discouraging opponents from attacking her and thus spending their effect removal on her. Then, she is Level4 WATER for Toadally tubular Bahamut plays, and can synergize with Jigobyte. Plus I find her artwork cute.A thing she is missing is having 1500 or less ATK for Salvage. DIscuss. ~Faytl~
This thing is actually really annoying to try and remove, especially without devoting multiple attackers to it and losing one to whatever it revives. Unless you have a huge beater like DRXD or UTL, ofc, but then you've used your UTL on this. The fact that her draw ability feeds into her revive effect just really pushes her usability high in Spellcaster decks. Very solid card.
Sleepy
The draw effect is solid and generic enough. The attack protection it has is probably the weakest of the bunch though since it comes from the Graveyard and your opponent can perfectly predict what's coming. Also, any deck that can make Utopia the Lightning can attack this card, which isn't exactly all decks but it sounds fairly recurrent for a push. Other than Magician girls I can only really think of Summoner Monk to give you this card so it isn't super consistent, but if you draw into it or a way to get it out, it does seem pretty decent. The art of all Magician Girls from the set I find awkward. This card for example, I think they were trying to give it perspective but instead everything from her hips down looks the wrong size compared to her bigger upper half of the body. It could also be more of an issue of the shading than the line art, but I can't be 100% sure. It has something that bothers me, like a lot of other art from the year like the last Slifer art, the last Obelisk art, and Bakura's hair in the movie. Still probably the most solid of all Magician Girls
Darj
Yeah, Utopia Lightning/Castel/etc. stops her, but then the opponent spent his/her Utopia when they could have been reserved for a bigger threat. Not sure if I should consider hers the weakest effect: the ones that Summon from the hand have the surprise factor, but they aren't a +1 Summon like Chocolate's, plus depending on the deck and stage of the duel, it may be easier to have a big Spellcaster in the grave than in the hand.As for the artwork... don't make me look too much into them or then I will start finding flaws xDIDK, Chocolate may be a bit disproportionate, but looks cute to me anyway.
