dustdevil9
So MTG has devoid, so couldnt yugioh and create a new element to this mess of a game we play an example would be Ghastly KnightLvl 4DevoidWarrior/Effect 1000/1800If this card is Normal Summoned or Flipped; you can send 1 Devoid-Attribute monster from your deck to the graveyard. If this card is Special Summoned you can place 1 Devoid-Attribute monster in your graveyard on top of your deck. Obviously it has potential but like any new thing added to yugioh it wouls take time to create support before it became anything good.
Medivh
Why does Yugioh need a new attribute? It's not like the six we have are very important to the core gameplay, or anything.
shadowsapex
Well don't just copy the name. Call it VOID or something. You're supposed to capitalize it. Not doing so kinda ruins the effect. We have 7 attributes. Well, you see, MTG has Devoid because color is a central part of their game. It's one of their mechanics and something you build a deck around. In Yugioh, Attribute is just flavor, and our current selection serves all our flavor purposes perfectly fine. Adding a new one adds nothing new to the game. In fact, judging from the above card, it's not even that different from DARK.You really should've introduced this attribute with a set. Show us how you're going to support it, what cards of this attribute look like, and what mechanics they focus on (FIRE=burn, EARTH=defense). Just telling us 'hey, how 'bout this new attribute, huh?' is meaningless.Devoid is the lack of a color. Cards lacking an attribute has already been done in the Clear archetype from the GX anime. They sucked, because attributes mean nothing in this game.

I disnt watch GX thought it was rubbish; so Clears are meaningless to me. The whole purpose of VOID would be to make a new branch to expand Yugioh out and use aomething liek VOID Attribute as a means to be a blank slate to do anything you want with it, and not be trapped into the same roles rhat current attributes have, as for creating a set so you could understand wouldnt be that great because i was looking ideas to expand the concept. But back to the Clear Archtype and the attributes mean nothing, than what BriFu and Allure for? Mask Changes? Nat Beast? Atributes fill neet roles that allow us to expand plays, Water fills the role of being able to make Bahumat Shark into Toadally Cancer. I think your underestimating the role of Attributes, so creating an 8th that can expand beyond 4 cards would be kewl. But if need be ill make an Archetype that can encompass being VOID and take advantage of the other Attributes.
shadowsapex
That's all well and good, but you really do need to make the cards for it. Saying 'alright, there's a new attribute now' doesn't do any good. And you didn't say anything about what you intend VOID cards to actually be. Like, for example, the Eldrazi in MtG are eldritch beings. What sets VOID cards apart so much that they absolutely have to be another attribute? Or are they just going to be DARK monsters that don't benefit from any preexisting support, like Wyrms? if so, then, well, you're going to have to show us a deck, like Yang Zings, in which the cards' design is better for not having DARK support.I meant that the concept of the Clear archetype having no attributes was that they were unaffected by the attribute-based stun effects that they ran, but having no attribute as a defensive concept is worthless because it's not like people usually play offensive cards targeting attributes anyways (aside from Eidolons). The cards you mentioned all use attribute to support yourself, which is not what I was talking about, but this is off-topic, so I digress.
