Apparently the assassin can be heard exclaiming "God is Great," and "We die in Aleppo, you die here". The assailant was later slain by Peace Keepers in a shootout. Fortunately, instead of things escalating between Turkey and Russia, both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have agreed to cooperate in investigation of the killing. 2016 has been quite a bloody year. In light of the circumstances, I'm wishing well to the people of Russia. This was a cowardly attack on an innocent man. It's shameful.
Ryusei the Morning Star
Not looking to gain political capital from this cowardly attack, and in that light I do appreciate both President-Elect Trump's and President Obama's condemnation of the matter. That being said, Turkey is a NATO member; NATO looks increasingly likely to put the US in a position that the new administration does not want to go in. Dad
Considering that Trump wants to strengthen our ties with Russia and make them allies instead of enemies, I'm inclined (albeit begrudgingly) to agree with you. But the Turks might try to spin this. President Obama didn't extradite Cleric Gulen, but President Trump might. Would not be surprised if he fled to Canada soon As for NATO, you're correct, the power in the Atlantic is all but gone. The Pacific Theater is the new power struggle. I would not be surprised to see a Moscow-Washington-Tokyo Axis rise in the next 8 years NATO was made when our parents were young or not even born, we really shouldn't be stuck in the past because people like Senator McCain are
