Slinky Posted December 14, 2016 Report Share Posted December 14, 2016 [spoiler=Big image]Imperial Order (Errata)Continuous Trap CardYou must pay 700 LP during each player’s Standby Phase. If you cannot pay 700 LP, destroy this card.(1) While this card is in the Spell & Trap Zone, negate all Spell Effects on the field. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Ryusei the Morning Star Posted December 14, 2016 Report Share Posted December 14, 2016 It's worse than ASF in that you're quite actually gonna struggle to play/advance with this up, and it's hard to kill But, being able to turn off pendulum scales is really pretty dope Gonna be one of the strongest cards in the format Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
~~~~ Posted December 14, 2016 Report Share Posted December 14, 2016 I think Anti-Spell Fragrance is stronger. Anti-Spell doesn't burn you and stops Pendulum Summoning. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Sleepy Posted December 14, 2016 Report Share Posted December 14, 2016 IDK guys... Unlike Anti-Spell, this card negates all Spells single handedly. Anti-Spell screws with Pendulums but can get to just delaying when it comes to other spells at times.We'll see. For now I'm mostly glad it's just at 1 and that they hit Treatoad too, otherwise this sounds too perfect for Burgesstomas. Then again, it is definitely weaker than the OG version. I have very bad memories of this card but I wanna see what people actually go through once it comes into effect. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Atypical-Abbie Posted December 14, 2016 Report Share Posted December 14, 2016 Interesting, I have been hoping we would eventually get an easy way to continuously negate Spell Cards on the field, while this is still awkward, it's something. evilfusion Posted December 14, 2016 Report Share Posted December 14, 2016 I was puzzled for a moment what the difference was, then it clicked. The difference is you can't "choose" to shut it off. It stays up until it's removed or you are unable to pay. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
(GigaDrillBreaker) Posted December 14, 2016 Report Share Posted December 14, 2016 Holy sheet I kinda just expected this to be nerfed to the point of sheet but this is actually lit af. Floodddgates are thrilled. Had a ton of fun using this with them in the Halloween 2015 event, and the card is absolutely still good. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Otherwise they would be pendulum monsters, not scales. The effects of the scales are turned off Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Ryusei the Morning Star Posted December 14, 2016 Report Share Posted December 14, 2016 Typhoon might see a resurgence given ASF and this Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Darj Posted December 14, 2016 Report Share Posted December 14, 2016 Locking Spells is strong, but it goes both ways, so it you want to play it to your advantage you will have to not rely on Spells as much yourself. Then again, it can be used for practically sealing games after establishing your board, in a similar fashion to Emptiness... but unlike Emptiness it cannot be turned off as easily if things go wrong on your side, as you cannot even MST/Twin Twister it. Plus the burn can get quite taxing. I don't think it will be as easy to splash as it seems, but we shall see. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Ryusei the Morning Star Posted December 14, 2016 Report Share Posted December 14, 2016 So? It's free.It's a zero sum game? Imperial order is there to negate spells, and to dodge IO's cost, you negate it In the end you're wasting two cards Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
(GigaDrillBreaker) Posted December 14, 2016 Report Share Posted December 14, 2016 You can't ignore the cost. You just gain access to spells during your turn, and win before the cost matters. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Kaiji Posted December 14, 2016 Report Share Posted December 14, 2016 daily reminder Drancia is barely an investment and therefore a viable way to turn off Imperial Order Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
As black noted it's stronger vs Pendulum scalesThis is also true, but the deck lost a fair bit of consistency ASF and Imperial Order aren't mutually exclusive. Just recognize the scenarios where one is better and apply accordingly. There are times where they overlap but this card is just as powerful as an additional 4th copy of ASF so just comparing them is flawed. Zodiac is still splashable zzzzzzz Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Βyakuya Posted December 15, 2016 Report Share Posted December 15, 2016 Floodgate cancer could never be anymore metastatic than this. The cost can really be averted with the use of things like Drancia, and instead of focusing more on interactive plays and drawn out turns, Konami has drifted further more into the ideals of first turn dominance. Even though there are combo-heavy decks that only need monsters to ignite (Zodiacs) or Twin Twisters being rampant, someone unprepared for this can have a hard time. The upside is that it's Limited, while ASF can be ran in multiples and can lock out Pendulums as or even more efficiently. Still, this unban was completely unnecessary no matter how you look at it, even if the format depended on it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
