"Is mister Zaddicus a bad guy?Milleno looks aghast that anyone would even suggest something like that. "Lord Zaddicus? A bad guy? No! Of course not! Let me tell you a story. Once upon a time there was a young boy, around your age. Every day bullies would pick on him. Steal his money. Beat him up. But, one day, while the bullies were attacking the boy, Lord Zaddicus showed up and stopped them. He taught the boy how to summon monsters from tablets, and gave him a tablet that he said reminded him of the boy." Milleno picks up the 'Silent Swordsman' tablet. "That was this card, and I was the boy. Lord Zaddicus saved me and helped me become who I am today. I even created my own type of tablet! Can you believe it? So no. Lord Zaddicus is not a bad guy. Not at all. Does that answer your question?"

"I guess that makes sense, it's just a ton of people said some bad stuff about him when these two people brought me here . . ." Astra looked slightly more confident in Zaddicus, especially considering how nice he had been to him "I was being stupid probably." He handed Milleno the tablet for Lupus. "So how do "weapons" work? And how can you make a new tablet thing if they're alive? You can't just make a living thing can you?"

One of the palace guards had been heading to the courtyard arena for training when she heard someone yelling from one of the guest rooms. "So the Moon chose me, but whats it effect, what if I can't even use it?!" "Hmm, that's strange, I didn't know this room was occupied." ""Useless, I have to have "The World" to activate it's effect!" not wanting to intrude she knocked on the door "Sir, is there anything I can help you with?"

"You can't just make a living thing can you?" Milleno laughs. "Oh right! The weapon. No, you are right. No one can create life unless...well that's a story for another day. Anyways, weapons, spells, and traps aren't alive. They are just constructs that people make. Only the creatures are alive." Milleno looks at the Lupus tablet and starts copying some of its statistics onto the tablet. He then clicks the two tablets together. A weapon looking like a squeaky, toy hammer with a dogs head on either side appears. Milleno summons it and it pops into his hand. "Perfect!" He passes the hammer to Astra. "Try it out."  Milleno smiles at Astra and then summons his own weapon, a staff with musical notes surrounding it, also a young, girl huntress with blonde hair pops up besides Milleno. "Take us on."

Dazon turned around and noticed the door opened a crack. "Oh, sorry i didn't see you there!" He said as he continued writing his letter.

Dear Apolith

I hope things are going okay, is my brother alright?

anyway, i'm doing fine here in Predraelia. I've got some big news

for when i return anyway, i am, you won't believe this,

inside Zadicus's palace at Ersat! I know right?!

please reply soon.

- Dazon

"Wait a minute, there is something you can do for me!" He said. "Could you please deliver this message to Corona, because i have no idea where the delivery pigeons are?" He asked. But he quickly answered himself. "Oh what am i thinking, i got this!" He lifted up the flap on his patch and pulled out a tablet. "Perfect! I Summon, Sonic Chick!" And he looked as a puff of smoke appeared, and then a big-headed pink chicken appeared. "Could you please deliver this to Corona, my Squire Apolith is currently looking after it." He whispered to the creature and watched as it flew out the window. "Now, you were saying?" He asked, turning to the woman

After what felt like days, Kassyl finally opened his door, scurried in and locked it.
It was nice but details didn't matter, he didn't plan on staying for too long and this room simply held a window of opportunity, quite literally.

He crouched in the windowsill, observing the courtyard at least 3 stories below. Reaching up, he found there was still another floor between him and the roof. This wasn't going to be easy.
"You can't be serious" a familiar feminine voice rang from his pocket, fearful for what she knew would come next.
"When aren't I serious?" If she was in front of him he'd wink, although if she was in front of him she'd probably also be delusion jam on the cobbles of the courtyard. He backed into his room to the door, steadied himself, ran and took the leap of faith.

Tapping one of his sleeves he jumped from the window to the left, a chain flew from within his sleeve and attached to the roof tiling. Gravity set in hard and everything fell and swung.
"This was a mistaaaaakkkeee..." He screamed as he swung upwards, he prayed the momentum combined with the chain pulling him closer upwards to the roof would be sufficient, the mad magician flew and fell onto his targeted position on the roof. A crazed cackle escaping his lips, partially in joy that his plan actually worked, partially because nearly dying was fun and partially to drown out the protests being screamed from within his assistant's tablet.

Most people would call what just happened either acrobatics or a violation of basic physics, Kassyl called it 'the ability to run from guards and escape the occasional atrocity against life'. And that's exactly what he planned on doing now.

In the wreckage of Redwater, far from Zaddicus' castle, a jagged breath spilled from equally ragged lungs. Scarred legs dragged through dirt as Amaranth trudged through the rubble. His black cloak remained, but now it was torn and dirty, the markings gone. The ghosts of Redwater's former citizens whirled around him like a storm. As he reached the center of the town, where the guild hall used to be, he raised one hand over his head and opened his palm. A single white cube of bone, the size of a gambling die, rose from his palm and began to glow with a sinister light.

"EARTHBOUND BINDING!" Amaranth shouted, and the cube flared with violet flame, consuming the souls that were dragged screaming into the vessel until symbols crawled from the bone and burned themselves into the world.

Amaranth lowered his hand, and the cube hovered before him. The spirits within writhed in agony, and he spoke.

"Earthbound Immortal Cuauhcoatl... Perfect." As he looked about, he came to a conclusion. "This is not enough for what Zaddicus has done. I... We... will slowly crush Zaddicus' empire, city by city, before I come for him." He turned left and right, then decided to meander over to the next town for some more... "fun."

Simon saw The Zombie thing start to head to the next town he decided to once again take out another peice of papper and write another message, this time to the, corpse himself. Simon still had to find out about these Tarrot Tablets. He didn't exactly know why, but he had a feeling that it was important he get the information he needed.

"Dear Mr... Undead guy:

Can you wait for a second? I have somthing called a Tarrot Tablet, and i was wondering if you knew anything about these Tarrots. If you don't want to tell me, that's fine, i'll probably find out later, but i would appreciate if you cooperate with me.

Simon."

He once again summoned Mokey Mokey and gave the "letter" to it, giving it instructions to give it to the undead man that was next to the magician. He then sent it off and followed behind it. Simon was lucky he wasn't caught in the blast. Hopefully, he didn't have to experiance another one.

As the strange, square spirit approached him, Amaranth didn't initially register it. Then Mokey Mokey got upset and started poking him. Annoyed, Amaranth twisted his neck to look at the spirit. "How are you here? I killed everyone in Redwater, who could have summoned you--" The outcast angel shoved the letter into Amaranth's face, and he spluttered angrily as it flew away into the wreckage. Now immensely frustrated with the spirit, he grabbed the letter and opened it rather roughly, tearing it slightly.

The letter read as such:

Dear Mr... Undead guy:

Can you wait for a second? I have something called a Tarot Tablet, and I was wondering if you knew anything about these Tarots. If you don't want to tell me, that's fine, I'll probably find out later, but I would appreciate if you cooperate with me.

Simon.

Amaranth burst out in vicious laughter and doubled over, his cackling echoing across the ruins of Redwater. How cheeky. he thought, that someone should survive this onslaught and come immediately to me for help. As he begins to shuffle on, he dabs his bloodstained fingers on the page, writing simply: "TRY TO KEEP UP." followed by a crooked smiley face

The Beginning of a Grand Event

Zaddicus carefully placed the final component on the tablet of his new spell, then, with a puff of yellowish-green smoke proclaimed "It's done." he quickly summoned his spirit to test it "Demonic Tarot." out of the tablet burst the familiar goat headed man, his arms crossed in defiance at what he was about to do "You'll never get a spell of that caliber to work, it's been three months since your last attempt what makes you think it'll work this time?"Zaddicus simply took the tablet and showed the demon "Because this time it's not just for me, by making it a field spell it should disperse the energy enough so that it doesn't . . ." "Explode again?" the spirit said, rather arrogantly. "Yes that, either way let's just try it shall we?" Zaddicus raised the tablet to the sky and called out it's name as loudly as he could "I activate Sparing Grounds!" as quickly as he said it the tablet evaporated into a blue cloud that quickly expanded out the door, into every room of the palace, through the gates, and finally around the entire capital at which point it solidified around the border to create a clear dome filled with strange blue smoke "Impressive, now if it fails everyone will get injured." the demon replied with a strange grin, one you wouldn't think a goat could make. "Just do your job. Demonic Tarot, Attack Zaddicus directly." "With pleasure." the Tarot formed balls of flame in both hands and flung them towards it's unmoving master but just as they were about to hit they dissipated with an audible fizzle. "It worked?" the spirit was in shock at the lack of third degree burns on Zaddicus' body. "It would appear so, which means it's finally time." Zaddicus quickly dismissed the spirit and informed the kitchen as well as his personal messenger that the feast would be taking place shortly.

Xanxus.full.935802.jpg

"Try it out." Astra stared at the new weapon in his hands as Milleno summoned his own, a strange looking staff, and a spirit to go with it ""Take us on." Astra opened his mouth to speak as an unnerving blue fog crept in and quickly filled the room "What's happening? is this part of it?" Astra looked to the elderly servant in the room with them, hoping he knew what was going on "You two stay here, I'll investigate, and please no dueling, Lord Zaddicus would prefer this room stay as it is. If you'd like I can escort you to the dueling field in the court yard once this is sorted out." The mans expression as he left didn't make Astra feel much better, the young summoner hopped up onto the bed with Lupus and held the living doll to his chest nervously.

"Now, you were saying?" The woman blushed as she stared at the Summoner "I, umm, I heard yelling and wanted to make sure everything was alright and, well." She bowed awkwardly to her masters guest "I'm very sorry for the intrusion sir." She was young, or at least younger than most of the servants and guards that could be found around the palace, her blonde locks waving as she bobbed her head up and down with her speech." As she was about to leave a blue vapor quickly enveloped her and the rest of Dazons room. "Oh dear, I'm sorry if this is inconvenient to you but Lord Zaddicus is always experimenting with new spells, hopefully it was suppose to do this, last time it exploded and all anyone heard for weeks was him arguing with himself over why it didn't work from his room." she covered her mouth with a look of surprise "Oh, I shouldn't have said that, I should go." the girl ran out of the room, in a hurry to get away from the embarrassing situation she put herself in.

[spoiler=OOC] your character should first react to the activation of this new spell over the capital if they are in Erast, otherwise feel free to continue as you are, keep in mind that the feast that Zaddicus and the staff keep bringing up is being prepared therefore the announcements will not be made quite yet.

Just then a vicious Cackaling went off and Mokey Mokey came back with Simon's letter, except now it had a crooked smile and the message "TRY TO KEEP UP." on it, both in blood. Simon shrugged his shoulders and called back his Mokey Mokey into it's tablet, as he followed after the Undead man, not wanting to be left behind. He went over the message many times, he didn't answer his question, and yet the Corpse was guiding him. Was it possible this Smiling Shambling Husk also had one of these Tarrot Tablets? Either way, he would catch up with this Zombie and get answers to his questions.

“I need a drink”
In a town near to Erast, Samantha was standing outside of a house.  A few minutes ago, she was playing poker inside that house and then she had lost all her money and was kicked out. Samantha looked into the pouch she carried money in and saw it was empty.
Well of course it was empty; she had just lost all of her money in a game of poker. She then reached into her right pocket, hoping to find some coins. Instead of pulling out coins, she pulled out a summoning tablet. Looking at the tablet, she saw the name that was on it. “The Judges Tarot,” she said out loud. She had found the Judges Tarot when she woke up with a hangover in an alleyway yesterday.  “Maybe I could sell it.” A tablet in her jacket started glowing blue, and a female voice spoke. “Good idea, you can sell it for money and then drink yourself to death, you drunk pig!” The voice said in an annoyed and angry tone. The voice belonged to Fate, one of Samantha’s duel spirits. Fate and Samantha had their occasional arguments.

Samantha pulled out the glowing tablet from her jacket and yelled at it, “Shut up!” “Why should I?!” “Because if you don’t I will sell you instead!” For several seconds, there was silence and then Fate finally spoke. “You’re an idiot…” The summoning tablet then stopped glowing and she put it back in her jacket. Now with that pain of an argument out of the way, Samantha then went to look for a place were she could sell the Judges Tarot. Navigating through the crowds of people, she decided to take a shortcut through an empty alleyway. When she was about to get to the end of the alleyway, someone blocked her path.

Standing there in a shiny suit of armor was one of Zadicus’s soldiers. The soldier was staring at Samantha, well not mainly at her, but at the sword that was holstered on her belt. The soldier did not look happy. It took Samantha a few seconds to realize that the soldier looked familiar. She then remembered that she had stolen his sword a while back, and that same sword was the one he was staring at. Samantha turned slightly pale and slowly started to back up. “Oh um, hi there, um, Marcus is it? I can’t really remember your name but that’s okay because I’m going to be leaving now.” She turned around, and saw 2 other soldiers blocking her path. She was trapped in the alleyway. Turning back to Marcus or whatever his name was, Samantha pulled her sword out and aimed it at him. “Looks like I will have to fight my way out.”

Kassyl faltered as the blue cloud passed through him. Drawing a quick breath and holding it he looked desperately for an escape route to avoid the deadly gas. He started to run but no matter where he went the fog was pervasive, enshrouding the entire grounds. He looked down to the courtyard only to see nobody panicking, nobody choking and nobody falling down dead or asleep. He finally breathed deeply as his lungs were about to burst, this time his ears were filled with the laughter of his assistant.

"Oh hush up. They ought to be more considerate, some people have poor experiences with clouds."

He looked up as if to scorn some unseen god then redirected his attention back to the situation. Any chance of escape was now dashed by an obvious security measure. Faster than the speed he could understand them a thousand possible ideas popped into his head. Ideas such as:

  • The cloud must be a summoning, maybe I can negate it
  • It's getting late, maybe I should eat dinner with his highness
  • How do I get off this roof?
  • Maybe I should take a nap, it's been a long day
  • This blue looks good on me, I should tell my tailor
  • Can I destroy my tarot?

Until finally he reached a conclusion, it was time to rehearse. Tonight he would work on his 'Human Deck' trick and tomorrow he would utilise it.

The Next Phase

guy.jpg

Zaddicus was in his room, as always, preparing his speech for the feast being prepared below, his Tarot standing over him criticizing everything "Don't tell them that yet, it could be dangerous, or that, you want them to trust you." Zaddicus simply sighed "If you want to help why not tell me something useful, like when the invitations need to be sent." he gestured towards a small pile of black invitations with elegant white writing "Now." Zaddicus stared in a mixture of confusion and annoyance, the demon was acting different than usual, perhaps finally seeing the other tarots in person was affecting him. "Fine then." Zaddicus pulled a spell from his desk, Different Dimension Capsule, and placed the invitations inside. "If the servants finally set up this system correctly each invitation should appear in a different room for each of our guests, now then, I believe it's time for dinner." the Demonic Tarot disappeared as his master left the room and headed towards the grand dining hall where a maid was about to inform Zaddicus the meal was prepared.

Astra was still clutching Lupus to his chest, frightened by the strange blue mist surrounding the capital, when the invitation materialized in front of him. "Huh?" Astra turned to his guest and new friend Milleno, putting down Lupus and handing him the Invitation "I can't read it." he said, somewhat ashamed. the card was written in the same symbols as his tarot, the difference was the invitation couldn't tell him what it said, although he did recognize Zaddicus' signature from earlier "I think it's from mister Zaddicus, maybe it's about the smoke stuff?" he said, more wishing than hoping that t was good news, maybe the blue fog was on purpose, or maybe it wasn't dangerous at least.

[spoiler=OOC] the invitation reads as such, "Esteemed guests of Erast Palace, I, Lord Zaddicus, formally invite you to a feast at the grand dining hall, if you require directions find the nearest servant and they will escort you. I heavily suggest you do not skip this event as this feast doubles as both your official welcome to my residence as well as a private holding of court where I will answer your questions to the best of my abilities. Seating is pre-arranged by Tarot number to avoid confusion and complaint.

"I should probably where something smart, uhhh, do i have any Royal Outfits??" He asked himself. He shuffled round his pouch until he found something. "I binded this yesterday, I activate, Royal Suit!" He roared, and a cloud of smoke covered the room before drifting off. Dazon was standing with a Black Suit and tie, with the royal symbol engraved on his chest. He then looked at the mist. "Can't wait till this stuff disappears"

"Dammit! 52 card pickup." Kassyl almost screamed,10 attempts already and he still couldn't pass the 2nd phase of the act. The assistant chuckled from within his coat, contented with his frustration after the numerous close-calls he'd put her through that day.

"Oh hush. I'd like to see you food..." His voice changed on the last word, as if he were caught off guard by it.

"Pardon?" The small voice asked, her witty retort thrown away by her carrier's distractive tendencies.

"I said I smell food."

Kassyl's stomach growled. The last thing he ate was a hat of imaginary popcorn and that stuff doesn't exactly contain the required nutrition for a young man, or anyone for that matter. But now the aroma's of all sorts of delicious things were wafting through the air that simply couldn't be ignored. Finding his last card conveniently near the edge of the roof, Kassyl looked down to see a window into a grand dining hall.

"Please not again."

"How do you think I feel? I may be breaking bread with the guy who could have me arrested for high treason with a mere gesture. But when you have to eat you have to eat."

Knowing there was no reasoning with his stomach, she hushed up and let him do his thing of hanging off ledge, swinging and jumping into the room through the open window, landing with a thud that would almost definitely be felt in the morning. He looked around, the table was still deserted of food, covered only in plates and cutlery with an inscription. At the head of the table lay a throne labelled 'The Demonic Tarot'. The symbolism was far from lost on the magician.

"The Empress' Tarot, The Highest Tarot, ah here I am. The Magical Tarot, glad they saved a seat for me. Lets hope the gracious host doesn't mind if I settle in while the other guests arrive" He mused to himself, hopefully answers would come as plentifully as food tonight.

Zaddicus had been in the kitchen, checking with his head chef that the meals were to the specifications he requested when a loud thud was heard from the grand hall "Just make sure you don't overcook it, you know how he hates his dessert burned." The intimidating overlord walked into the enormous dining hall to see one of his guests had already arrived, the strangely dressed man was sitting in the seat of the magician "I see punctuality is important to you." he said, almost as if he expected the man to be there. "Unfortunately it seems my other guests either don't feel the same or are having navigation issues so I'm afraid we won't be starting just yet. Since your here I suppose I could answer a few questions I'm sure you have, keep in mind I'm not one to explain myself twice so some things will have to wait until the rest have arrived." Zaddicus took his seat at the head of the table, two seats away from The Starry Tarot. "Would you care for a drink of any kind?"

Damn him, acting so calm and unimpressed. The only thing worse than a heckler is someone who clearly doesn't care about the performance.

"A drink? No no, I'm fine. If there's one thing I've learned from my travels it's never to trust a drink offered to you by a handsome stranger."

Kassyl forced a chuckle, trying his best not to lose his composure in either fear of or rage against the demon of a man sitting across from him. So long as the emperor didn't know what he was capable of he was safe. Right?

Probably wrong but so long as there was no mention of criminal offences, unique binding spells, dead monarchs or cities that had been conquered and destroyed in the name of the empire it should be fine. Maybe the small-talk would best be kept to something simple. Like hats, hats are nice.

Kassyl caught himself wandering off mentally and refocused. At least he could ask a question to prepare for the oncoming storm.

"And if there's something else I've learned it's to always be prepared. I assume the kid and that soldier-looking fellow will be joining us but I must know, who else have you invited to this dinner party... and am I underdressed?"

“Well that went pretty well.” Samantha said, before wincing from the pain that shot from her left arm. Her dueling spirit, Chance, was wrapping a bandage around her left arm, which was bleeding. Chance was a handsome looking guy with dark brown hair and rich looking clothing. He also wore a golden necklace which had a pair of dice and a double sided coin on it. Chance laughed at what Samantha said.

“Sure, that fight went pretty well, if ‘pretty well’ means that you almost got your arm cut off.” he said back. Moments ago, Samantha had fought 3 of Zaddicus’s soldiers and had killed two of them. But when fighting the third, she had trouble, mainly because he was one of Zaddicus’s top soldiers. In the sword fight that followed, the soldier (who’s name was possibly Marcus?)had made a viscous cut on Samantha’s left arm before running away.

When Chance finished wrapping the bandage around her arm, he looked at Samantha. “You know, you shouldn’t be so reckless.”  She should not be reckless? That was impossible, ‘reckless’ was Samantha’s middle name.  “You sound like my dad.”  Samantha slightly cringed when she said the word ‘dad’. The words ‘mom’ and ‘dad’ were words she rarely used and were her least favorite words. Chance put his hand on her right shoulder and looked her in the eye (since she only had one). “Your left arm should heal in about 2 to 4 days thanks to some special plants I used to treat the wound.” Chance then smiled as he continued. “I would tell you not to do anything that would reopen the wound, but I know that you will probably just forget, like you always do.”  Samantha looked away from Chance and looked at her jacket which was laying on the ground. The left sleeve was covered in blood, her blood, and there was a clear cut on it that showed where the soldier’s sword had struck.

“I swear, the next time I see Marcus, or whatever his name is, I will punch him until he buys me a new jacket.” Picking up her jacket, she put it on, flinching when she had to lift her left arm. She pulled out a napkin from one of her jacket’s pockets and wiped at her left sleeve until she had removed most of the blood. “Well thanks for the help, Chance” “No problem, boss.” Chance said in a joking tone before returning to his summoning tablet, which was glowing red in Samantha’s jacket. Another tablet glowed blue and a voice spoke.

“Seriously, I don’t know why you help her, brother” “What can I say; I have a weak spot for pretty girls.” Chance said back with swagger. If Fate was not in her summoning tablet, you would probably have seen her roll her eyes. “She is a drunk, immature and reckless person!” Fate shouted. “Hey!” Samantha protested, “I’m not drunk! I have not had a drink for hours!” “She also threatened to sell my summoning tablet!” “That’s your problem sis, not mine.” This argument was going a bit too far for Samantha’s liking. “Shut up for a second!” Thankfully, this got both her dueling spirits to shut up. Suddenly, Samantha heard the sound of voices in the distance, and they were getting closer. Samantha swore when she recognized one of the voices. Marcus was coming, and he had brought more of Zaddicus’s solders. She had to get out of there. Reaching into her jacket, she pulled out the summoning tablet, Die of Luck, which she quickly summoned. Die of Luck appeared floating in the air in front of her. Die of Luck looked like a six-sided die, but was about 2 times bigger than a person’s head. The numbers on each side of the die were written in twisted red and the color of the die was a dark gray. “Die of Luck,” Samantha said in a hurry. “Random Teleport!” Instantly the dice started spinning and then teleported, bringing Samantha with it.

In a flash of red light, Samantha appeared in what looked to be a dining room, and an enormous one it was. Looking around, she realized that she was standing on a dining room table that was surrounded by chairs. The table had plates and cutlery but no food. Darn, Samantha thought, I was feeling a bit hungry. She soon realized that she was not alone. Two people were sitting in the chairs. One of them looked to be some kind of magician, that Samantha felt she had seen before. When she looked at the other person, her eyes grew to the size of saucers. Sitting there at the head of the table was the leader of Predrealia, Zaddicus. Frozen to the spot by shock, Samantha didn’t know what to do, but luckily her instincts did. Her instincts were telling her to get the f**k out of there. So she quickly jumped off the table, causing two of the plates to fall onto the floor and break. With her Die of Luck floating after her, she ran out of the room and down the hallway. She then opened the next door she found and went into the room, which turned out to be a closet. When Die of Luck floated into the closet, she closed the door. I am having the best luck today, Samantha thought sarcastically.

"Why is there a girl on my table?" Zaddicus thought, somewhat irritated by the intrusion. he slowly began rising from his seat as she leaped off, shattering a few plates on the way, and ran out of the room. "I'm so sorry, please don't feel the need to leave, more of the guests should be joining shortly, or at least I would hope. Oh, and if you change your mind about the drink simply ring the bell next to your plate, a server will come to take your request." Zaddicus made a rather unsavory expression as he left the room, following the footsteps of the intruder while muttering to himself which any near by servant knew as a warning to give the ruler his space. "Honestly, I go to all the effort to set up a nice meal and some random woman materializes breaking my plates, sure they're just plates to everyone else but I worked hard for them!" the tablet, always with him, began to glow it's strange black light as the spirit within spoke "You're upset about the plates more than someone easily invading your fortress?" Zaddicus brashly replied "Yes I am! you know what we had to eat off of when I was conquering Predraelia? rocks that were crudely carved into almost flat slates! plates are a privilege." the emperor remained silent before adding "Besides those were the ones with the gold decal, custom made." "Just being sure you're priorities are in order, what would your brother think hearing you whine over this?" the spirit said coyly. Zaddicus refused to respond. When he reached the closet the girl had run into he quickly closed his eyes, taking a deep breath and putting on his facade of pleasantness before opening the door "I apologize if I startled you but in all fairness you did break some very nice and very expensive plates, if you've come to seek court I'm afraid it is private for the evening, if you've come to assassinate me please surrender now, I have a very important meal to get back to and I hate executions before dinner."

Challengers Approaching

While Zaddicus was tending to the girl in the closet two men entered the dinning hall, one dressed in a ridiculous jesters outfit that rivaled Kassyl's attire in terms of color and uniqueness, the other dressed in the standard outfit of Zaddicus' summoner soldiers, each nodded to Kassyl as the walked past him to take their seats, the warrior three places away from Kassyl in the seat of The Emperor while the oddly dressed man sat in the chair labeled for The Fool right next to Kassyl. The two vastly different men seemed to recognize each other but avoided eye contact, the warrior staring down Kassyl in an attempt at either intimidation or curtsy while the clown man quickly rang his bell summoning a server "Give me whatever Lord Zaddicus usually drinks." His voice was riddled with worry almost as if he thought the request would get him arrested on the spot. the maiden nodded silently and returned with a bottle of what appeared to be a fine wine with a label of strange symbols. "Èmó xuè sir, Master Zaddicus' usual." She poured a small amount of the dark red, almost black, liquid into the goblet near the jesters plate before adding "It's rather bitter and rather strong, one third a cup is all most people can handle." The oddly dressed man took a sip "What's this stuff called again, it's foreign or something right? Zaddicus must not realize the liquor in Erast is known for being sweet." The man clasped a hand over his mouth, not meaning to have insulted his rulers choice in wine with his nervous rambling. "It means Demons Blood, it's from Culcheth, a small nation to the north. During the revolution it was said Lord Zaddicus refused any other beverage, supposedly the bitter taste kept him on his toes." the soldier said, his voice carrying a matter of fact attitude. "I along with my entire battalion made sure to drink a small amount before the battle at Ubbin Falls to try to capture his fighting spirit, hard to get without going there in person, it's one of those local drinks every family has a slightly different recipe to yet no one sells it cross-border for profit." "I-is that so?" the Clown seemed afraid of the soldier more than he would be of Zaddicus had he walked in the room. "Might I ask your name good sir?" he said, turning towards Kassyl, quickly trying to change the subject.

Eventually Simon caught up with the shabling corpse, though it took a lot of wandering... in fact they were still wandering. Not that simon had not wandered for long periods of time, but this was ridiculous. Was the corpse planning to lead him into a trap? No, if the zombie had planed a trap, it shurly would have been closer to the ruins where they had left. Simon finnaly decided to speak up for once during this long, long journey.

Simon: "So... mind telling me where we're going? We've been walking for quite a while now. Maybe your name while we're at it? Unless you want me to call you Random nameless Zombie."

Jordan Cursed. She hated formal wear, especially the dresses. She at least had found something that was partly casual.

She didn't know much about the meeting. She didn't understand the extent of what Zaddicus was going to say at this "meeting" for tarot holders.

She came down to the meeting and saw a grand table set for 21. The table cloth was of a grand silk. She dared to speak a question.”Do I happen to be late, Lord Zaddicus?” But as soon as she asked, she knew the answer. Only a small number are filled. But why would anyone give up the chance to learn about the tarot cards?

Samantha instantly backed up when the closet door opened. Standing there standing in the frame of the door was Zaddicus. Looking around, Samantha realized that there was no escape. She could not use her Die of Luck’s Random Teleport ability either because it was in the long process of charging. Well F**k I’m screwed, she thought. And then Zaddicus spoke.

"I apologize if I startled you but in all fairness you did break some very nice and very expensive plates, if you've come to seek court I'm afraid it is private for the evening, if you've come to assassinate me please surrender now, I have a very important meal to get back to and I hate executions before dinner."

Samantha could tell that Zaddicus was a bit peeved when he mentioned the plates. He must really like his plates, she thought. She soon realized that Zaddicus’s pleasant behavior was faked because she had seen that kind of behavior before, from another man 4 years ago…

-In the bar called the Drunken Star, Samantha was seated by a table. Both of her eyes shined in the dim light of the bar. Her right eye was a beautiful light blue, while her left eye was a stunning blood red.  On the other side of the table sat a man with a wide grin. On the table in front of him was a huge pile of coins. Bronze, silver, gold, all kinds of coins were in the pile. Samantha, on the other hand, had only a small amount of sliver ones but she had a wide grin. Both the man and she held two cards and in the middle of the table were four cards. They were playing a game of poker. This game of poker would be the one that would cost her her left eye. The man was a well known bounty hunter, one of the best in fact. His name was Arthur and he loved one thing more than anything in the entire world, and that one thing, was money. Samantha looked deviously at Arthur before speaking.

“Do you want to make a bet?” Arthur looked up from his cards. “What kind of bet?” he asked. Leaning back in her chair, Samantha’s smile grew bigger. “All or nothing, if I win, I get everything, if you win, you get everything.” Arthur laughed at this. “You want me to bet all or nothing?” he coughed out in his laughter. “What? Are you to afraid to do it?” she asked. Arthur ceased his laughing and shook his head. “Sure, I will bet all or nothing, after all,” he then leaned over the table, pushing his large stack of coins towards the middle, “I’m not afraid.” With that, Arthur and Samantha both placed there two cards down on the table, revealing what they had. Arthur’s smile faded away almost instantly. He had lost, and Samantha had won.

Greedily taking the coins on the table, Samantha looked over at him. “Too bad, looks like luck was not on your side.” Standing up, his smile slowly returning, Arthur shrugged. “Well you win some, you lose some.” He then headed for the exit and Samantha focused her attention back to the pile of coins. She thought that Arthur had accepted losing, but she couldn’t be more wrong. When she almost had all coins in her money pouch, she heard Arthur speak again. “Hey Samantha, one more thing.”  “What is it?” She looked over and saw a dagger flying through the air towards her. The next thing she felt was the blade of the dagger as it stabbed her in the eye.-

Samantha brought her right hand up to her eye patch as she recalled the memory. Secretly, she missed her left eye, but she never told anybody this. Realizing that she should probably tell Zaddicus how she got here before he either imprisoned her or killed her, Samantha quickly brought her hand back down. “My name is Samantha and your probably wondering how I magical teleported into your dinning hall. Well it’s kind of a long story, but I am going to try and make it as short as possible.”

Samantha let out a sigh before continuing. “I was planning on selling this random summoning tablet I had found yesterday and I was looking for a place to sell it when suddenly I got ambushed by three of your soldiers. One of them, his name is Marcus I think, was really wanting this sword back.” She quickly gestured to the sword that was in the holster on her belt. “I, by the way, previously stole this sword from him because it’s a beautiful sword, you can’t deny that. So anyway, a sword fight broke out and I had injured two of the soldiers that Marcus had with him, but then Marcus got a lucky swipe in and because of that, I got this nasty cut on my left arm,” she gestured to her bandaged left arm which was slightly stained with blood. “Then Marcus ran away and I got one of my duel spirits to bandage my wounded arm, but then Marcus returned and brought more soldiers so I used my Die of Luck,” gesturing to the big floating die behind her, she continued, ”to teleport me out of there and by random chance I got teleported here. So yah, that’s my story.”

A cocky smile appeared on her face. “I bet I gave you quite the shock when I appeared in the dining hall, eh Zaddicus?” She then nervously laughed before reaching into her pocket and pulling out a summoning tablet.  She quickly showed it to Zaddicus. On the summoning tablet, it said ‘The Judges Tarot’. “This is the summoning tablet I was planning about selling.”

"I bet I gave you quite the shock when I appeared in the dining hall, eh Zaddicus?" the girl pulled out a tablet that instantly began glowing in sync with Zaddicus' own Tarot. "This is the summoning tablet I was planning about selling." his eyes grew, not in shock or fear but a strange sense of joy, at the sight of The Judge standing before him "In that case how about we make a deal of sorts?" He backed away from the door, leaving room for her to exit the closet without letting her run off. "Since that sword is government property why not give it to me as payment for breaking my plates, I'll return it to it's owner and be sure he leaves you alone. in return you are welcome to join the meal you interrupted, i am short a few guests so it's no trouble at all." Zaddicus' pleasant demeanor seemed far more genuine now that he knew she was a Tarot holder. "If not then at least allow me to get you a room to stay in for the time being, an apology of sorts for the behavior of my men."

Kassyl was drifting off again, he didn't take much notice of what happened after he asked the question because when you're that much of a daydreamer you slowly get used to people popping in and out of thin air purely on the basis of not noticing them enter or leave. He barely even noticed Zaddicus leave his seat to chase the lady who actually did appear from nowhere, nor did he notice the two gentlemen taking their seats at the table until he was questioned.

"Might I ask your name good sir?"

Kassyl's eyes refocused as he looked the Jester up and down, a wide grin spread across his face. "Finally! Another entertainer. I am Kassyl, the extraordinary wandering magician, you may have heard of me."

He looked over the table to see another man sitting a few spaces up from him, a soldier, one of 'those' summoners. "Although the real mystery is what the polar opposites of a court jester and a soldier are doing together in a place like this. Care to introduce yourselves?"
