This card is unaffected by Trap effects while it has Xyz Material. "Traptrix" monsters you control, except "Traptrix Rafflesia", cannot be destroyed by battle or card effects. Your opponent cannot target "Traptrix" monsters you control, except "Traptrix Rafflesia", with card effects. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card and send 1 "Hole" Normal Trap Card that meets its activation conditions from your Deck to the Graveyard; this effect becomes that Trap Card's effect when that card is activated.

 

Bringing this card up because I find so funny and satisfying how it can have a psychological effect on the opponent just for having materials attached, even if you no longer have Trap Holes left in the Deck, nor the right Trap Hole to counter his/her next Summon.

I would like to learn more about the presence and impact this card has in the current metagames, both OCG and TCG. Is it still among the best Rank4s to run? Or has it fallen out of favor because of its competition from Castel and Utopia, and also because it requires a bit of main Deck space? I mean, I have seen it on some HERO variants that focus on Bahamut Shark/Treatoad, but on the other hand, I have not seen it in other Rank4-capable decks such as ABCs.

There's no greater pain than Pendulum Summoning 5 cards, preparing to go for game with this thing being the only thing standing in your way...

well then, you just mentioned one of my favorite plays.

 

but to build off of that, this card causes heavy mindgames still, it demands attention, because it's a poker face card. the advent of floodgate trap hole has boosted the amount of options present when responding to any plays, and in combination with bottomless and the traptrix hole (which as a splash, has saved my bacon in quite a few tourneys) packs an unpredictable punch. and that's to say nothing of the deck it's meant to be in, which can make these and more with the greatest of ease. you summon this girl in traptrix and your opponent often burns off whatever removal they think they can spare just to get some peace of mind.

 

been thinking of building traptrix paleozoics, but i have no idea what it would be able to do better than either deck can already do on their own.
