Tourmaline Posted November 3, 2016 Report Share Posted November 3, 2016 Of course it was not political. It's the FBI acting in accordance with its duty unlike Hillary or her supporters. They ought to vigorously investigate her. A presidential candidate should expect and be enthusiastic to receive the harshest of investigations, more so if they are truly innocent, because then their rivals look idiotic. Her deserving of punishment is independent of the FBI's motivations, by the way. Whether or not the FBI wants Trump to win, her crimes should not go unpunished. Aerion Brightflame Posted November 3, 2016 Report Share Posted November 3, 2016 Nobody should be questioning whether the investigation is valid. Because the while investigation is not political, the timing of the announcement is a political choice because of the persons involved. Whether or not it was a valid political decision depends entirely on what was known by the FBI at the time of announcement. Something I don't think we are currently privy to. iIf there wasn't anything pertinent then its a mistake, and if there was then it depends on the details. And even then it's iffy because the FBI has never said she's innocent in the investigation, simply that they weren't confident in a conviction being secured so they didn't recommend a formal charge being brought forwards. So the announcement of new emails shouldn't need to be done a week before the election because anything relevant won't take effect till after anyway. The only thing it really changes is Hillary's perception in the publics eye, which a week out from the election is undoubtedly a political choice. Neither candidate has been exactly candid this election. Trump still hasn't released his tax returns (which in theory have massively relevant revelations about his Russian ties). And Hillary is a two faced jabroni who attempted a cover-up of a potential major security breach. As usual it comes down to picking the best of two lousy options. Fun fun week ahead Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Aerion Brightflame Posted November 3, 2016 Report Share Posted November 3, 2016 Russia was a theoretical example because Eric has said that Russians were a source of large portion of Trumps money. Its not really the specific example that matters as much as the idea that the returns are hiding something important. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
~~~~ Posted November 3, 2016 Report Share Posted November 3, 2016 ~violent outbursts such as this should not be directed towards the helpless and the ignorant, but instead towards the rich and powerful who not only stand idle as Climate Change looms, but actively work to bring it about. ~viva la revolution Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Tentacruel Posted November 3, 2016 Report Share Posted November 3, 2016 The fact of the matter is it's really easy to ignore violence when it doesn't support your viewpoint. The same way that people tend to immediately go on the defensive and justify police actions when some black guy gets shot for running a stop sign or some bullshit, a lot of people are going to ignore the problem here in favor of justifying their continued hatred for the political right. Now keep in mind this is not directed at anyone as I have not been paying any attention the election thread nor do I know who has said what around here and frankly I do not care. vla1ne Posted November 3, 2016 Report Share Posted November 3, 2016 It's sad. because this one is a strong reminder of why listening to opposing views should be tolerated. they threw out everything she said, in favor of "hate speech" all because they hated her views. not only that, but they condoned harrassing and defacing her property. they seem to think they're so much better than her, but their actions prove that even if she's in the worse position, she is clearly the better person. not gonna lie, i ignore a lot of things simply because i don't care often enough, including cops shooting blacks, because i assume the full story's gonna say something different than the mainstream narrative, and it usually does (which has just numbed me to most, if not all of the cop violence stories). but this right here is a prime example of intolerance towards opposite views. even if you don't care for the views of your opponent, you've gotta show respect enough to, if not be vocally civil, at least keep your hands off them and their property. Tourmaline Posted November 3, 2016 Report Share Posted November 3, 2016 What happened in the video is just an attestation to the murder of intellectualism in North America (admittedly it's visible enough through the attitude towards it over here on YCM). Conservative values are a lot more important than people think. I don't know why everyone is so against having high standards when that's how, throughout history, every single successful civilization succeeded. Note how often empires die as a result of increasing liberalism. Western politics are lopsided right now but fortunately people are speaking up now. Aerion Brightflame Posted November 4, 2016 Report Share Posted November 4, 2016 http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/rudy-giuliani-fbi-clinton-emails_us_581c9e3fe4b0e80b02c93d6b?ij36pfg576k0c6jemi Yes it's Huff post, but we are more interested in the video than the words. We have video footage of Rudy Giulliani, former mayor of New York, and a prominent Trump supporter talking about how he was aware of the Clinton emails about 3-4 weeks before they were made public. His reason for knowing was implied by him to be effectively inside knowledge from FBI agents. Previously the NYTimes ran a piece of his comments a day or two prior to Comey's statement that implied something of the sort was coming; http://www.nytimes.com/2016/11/04/nyregion/as-trump-ally-rudy-giuliani-hints-at-ties-to-the-fbi.html?_r=0 He does also talk about an initial investigation in July, and how agents were getting somewhat blocked from obtaining subpoena's to investigation some claims made during some of the interviews (Which is in and off itself worrying). Which is worth noting because that would be obstruction of justice in a different way which is still really shitty. Finally he mentions some tensions within the FBI about the situation, which matches a handful of other reports going about. He claims that his knowledge of such things comes from former FBI agents, and obviously we have no idea if that's not the case. But we at least has an inferance that people closely associated with the Trump campaign are getting some level of leckage. Again bringing into question the FBI's neutrality in all this (It's funny that the organisation has been seen to be non neutral in both directions at various points). As a little extra note, depending on the exact timing of the warrant for these emails, Rudy's comments here might actually be enough to get Clinton free because it would imply that the FBI were looking through the emails before they were legally allowed to. Which would be enough to get the evidence thrown out in a trial. If Clinton got off because of that (Assuming a charge is brought to bear), I would laugh my arse off. Dad Posted November 4, 2016 Report Share Posted November 4, 2016 Huffington Post is notoriously left. Apparently they're spreading word that Rudy Giuliani (former mayor of New York City) was given inside information about Clinton's email scandal, before it was released to the public. He then talked rather elusively about it, but dropped quite a few hints that he did indeed have classified information, and shared it with the Trump Campaign. Which, if he did share this with the campaign, that's highly illegal. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/rudy-giuliani-fbi-clinton-emails_us_581c9e3fe4b0e80b02c93d6b?ij36pfg576k0c6jemi Meanwhile, Clinton's investigation is becoming more aggressive, with Bret Baier saying that there are talks of having FBI on camera later today for further information regarding the investigation. Oh and apparently the Clintons are devil worshippers. They've been performing something called "Spirit Cooking". Supposedly it's some kind of performance art, but some people think otherwise. http://imgur.com/JcPWQXz Trumpers are Trumpettes are pushing to spread the word. No devil dealings in the White House. And the leaks are still coming as well. I'll be attempting to share tidbits from both sides of the isle since Winter is gone for some time. So don't think you're gonna get less Trump just cuz he ain't here. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
