You Call it Disadvantage? :: The Masterful Defenders

Yep. I actually pilfered this idea by reading Vs. System on Metagame. Man, I still can't tell the difference between K.O., exhaust and stun, and I have no idea how to pay costs, but I'm always looking to learn some more games. Anyway, I thought of the "teams" they have. I stumbled across one which garnered advantage via "exhausted" characters, and in my limited knowledge my brain connected "exhausted" with "defense mode". So, yep, this cards gain advantage depending on how many monsters are in defense mode!

 

Masterful Defender Valkyrion

When this card is Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned, or Special Summoned, it is switched to Defense Position. During your Standby Phase, if there are three or more face-up Defense Position "Masterful Defender" monsters on your side of the field, draw 1 card from your Deck.

This card gains the effects of each "Masterful Defender" monster that was tributed to Special Summon this card, in addition to its' own effect. This card's name is also treated as "Masterful Defender". This card is also treated as being the same number of "Masterful Defender" monsters that were tributed for this card.

Masterful Defense Technique - Disarm

Quickplay Spell

Activate only when your opponent declares an attack against a face-up Defense Position "Masterful Defender" on your side of the field. The ATK of the attacking monster is switched with the DEF of the attacking monster during Damage Calculation only. After this card's effect has been resolved, you may pay 1000 Life Points to shuffle it back into your deck.

 

Masterful Defense Technique - Protection

Quickplay Spell

Negate the effect of Spell cards that specifically designate a face-up "Masterful Defender" on your side of the field as a target. This cards' effect apply until the end of the turn that this card was activated. After this card's effect has been resolved, you may pay 1000 Life Points to shuffle it back into your deck.

 

Masterful Defense Technique - Brotherhood

Quickplay Spell

Tribute 1 face-up Defense Position "Masterful Defender" on your side of the field. Negate the activation of a Spell / Trap / Effect Monsters' effect that has the effect of destroying a monster(s) on the field and destroy it. After this card's effect has been resolved, you may pay 1000 Life Points to shuffle it back into your deck.

 

Masterful Defense Technique - Focus

Quickplay Spell

Negate the effect of a Spell / Trap / Effect Monster that would change control of 1 face-up Defense Position "Masterful Defender" on your side of the field, and destroy the Spell / Trap / Effect Monster. This cards' effect applies until the end of the turn that this card was activated. After this card's effect has been resolved, you may pay 1000 Life Points to shuffle it back into your deck.

Masterful Defense Technique - Taunt

Quickplay Spell

Activate only at the start of your opponent's Battle Phase, and by selecting 1 face-up Defense Position "Masterful Defender" monster on your side of the field. All Attack Position monsters on your opponent's side of the field must attack the selected monster during the Battle Phase. When the selected monster is destroyed as a result of battle and sent to the graveyard, end the Battle Phase. When this card has resolved, you may pay 1000 Life Points and shuffle it back into your deck.

 

Masterful Defense Technique - Call

Quickplay Spell

Each player selects 1 monster in their hand with a DEF higher than the ATK of the monster, and Special Summons that 1 monster to their side of the field in face-up Attack Position. When this card has resolved, you may pay 1000 Life Points and shuffle it back into your deck.

 

Masterful Defense Technique - Feint

Quickplay Spell

Tribute 1 face-up Defense Position "Masterful Defender" on your side of the field. Gain control of 1 monster on your opponents' side of the field, until the End Phase of the turn this card was activated. When this card has resolved, you may pay 1000 Life Points and shuffle it back into your deck.

 

Masterful Defense Technique - Rally

Quickplay Spell

This card cannot be activated during the Battle Phase. During the Battle Phase of the turn that this card was activated, the original ATK and DEF of all monsters on the field are switched. When this card has resolved, you may pay 1000 Life Points and shuffle it back into your deck.

 

Masterful Defense Technique - Guard

Quickplay Spell

All face-up monsters on the field are switched to Defense Position. When this card has resolved, you may pay 1000 Life Points and shuffle it back into your deck.

 

The Last Stand

Quickplay Spell

Activate only when you have less than 1000 Life Points remaining. Double the original DEF of all "Masterful Defender" monsters on your side of the field. During the Battle Phase of this turn, when a monster ATK a Defense Position monster with an ATK that is lower than the DEF of the attacked monster, the attacking monster is destroyed. During the End Phase of the turn that this card was activated, destroy all monsters on your side of the field.

 

 

Masterful Defense Armaments

Continuous Spell

When a "Masterful Defense Technique" card on your side has resolved, you may activate and apply 1 of the following effects:

*: Pay 500 Life Points to shuffle the card back into your deck.

*: Pay 1000 Life Points to return that 1 card to your hand.

 

Note: This card resolves at the same time as the effect of the Masterful Defense Technique, so you may select one of these effects INSTEAD of "Pay 1000 Life Points to shuffle this card back into your deck". If you wish to, you may still pay 1000 to return it to your deck, if you wanted to lose LP and you were in danger of decking out, or something.

 

Master of the Guard - Graepheir

("Masterful Defender Grepher" + 1 "Masterful Defender") This card cannot be Special Summoned except by Fusion Summon. This card's name is treated as "Masterful Defender Grepher". This cards' ATK and DEF are equal to the total original DEF of the monsters used to Fusion Summon this card. Depending on the "Masterful Defender" monsters used to Fusion Summon this card, apply the correct effects:

Masterful Defender Valkyrion: When this card is successfully Fusion Summoned, draw card(s) equal to the number of "Masterful Defender" monsters on the field, + 1.

Masterful Defender Grepher: Each time either player draws a card(s), inflict 300 points of damage to your opponents' Life Points for each card drawn.

Masterful Defender Erstra: By tributing 1 face-up Defense Position "Masterful Defender" on your side of the field, inflict damage to your opponent's Life Points equal to the ATK of the monster.
