yeah i know i did this before but i really like this idea & thought i'd give it one more shot, I've (hopefully) improved my presentation at least as well as made some adjustments/clarifications on things that may have turned people off.

 

[spoiler=Story] In the world of Predraelia humans and duel monster spirits walk along side each other, while spirits have the power and ability to dominate only humans called summoners can command them and their powers by sealing them inside small stone tablets. various groups fight for dominance throughout the land using these tablets in duels, testing the strength of their armies of spirits in a complex system of combat for high stakes. the current overlord over this chaotic world, known only as Zadicus, has announced to the citizens that he has discovered and sealed twenty one powerful spirits that rule over fate it's self and has scattered them throughout the land in order to search for summoners who can control them and join his court of elites to cement his rule. you have discovered one of the tablets containing these spirits & must choose to act, or watch the land be torn by a violent war, should you choose to fight it is your choice to join Zadicus in his tyrannical rule over Predraelia or fight against him and claim the land for your own.

[spoiler=Guideline]  Custom cards are encouraged

Custom Subtypes are allowed but require preapproval

Characters will be given a specific card based on the major arcana of a tarot deck that is mandatory to use in your deck, your character will also be a representation of that tarot card

If you want your character to have a specific tarot associated with them or none at all state this in your app otherwise it will be given to you

Cards for the minor arcana are available to everyone who possess a major arcana card

any unused major arcana cards wil be given to Zadicus' soilders/warrior elites who will appear to threaten characters into action/ cause conflict in general

i may add more guidelines if necessary

[spoiler=Backstory] The origins of the current ruler of Predraelia is unknown although rumors tell of a young summoner whom made a deal with a spirit to powerful to seal, in return for his servitude the spirit would take the place of the child in the physical world should they lose their soul in a duel. 

[spoiler=Personality] Very few have met Zadicus and lived to tell, those who have are awestruck by his power and swear alliagance to him or are detained and imprisoned by his royal forces. Some claim to have met him and mention he is an unexpectedly kind person to those he deems worthy such as summoners, to the less fortunate he is a cruel lord, showing complete dominance in his reign.

One more question: When you say medieval, do you mean medieval England, Medieval Japan, or just Medieval in general?

 

Because the only depiction of the sort of character image I'm looking for has him in a samurai-esk wardrobe.

 

Also, does the music HAVE to be medieval as well?

more of a "Lord of the Rings" feel (i guess fantasy would have been a better word) as far as the plot structure and magic aspect but with a Japanese atheistic

 

Also, does the music HAVE to be medieval as well?

no, just look at what i used for Zadicus, it's all metal/rock

Backstory: When Simon was a child, he would always be pushed around, treated as a lesser by the other children, but one day, he couldn't take it anymore and he just Snaped. Now he's a outlaw on the run, going after those who treated him wrong or those that simply look down on him and others. Because of this many see him as a kind of vigilante. He sees himself as neither a crook or a hero, in the "Karmic Punnisher's" mind, he's just playing the game called life. To be honest, Simon wasnt even there when the announcement happened, he found the tablet completely by ACCIDENT, and now hes thrusted into this not really caring about either choice, he's just following what's planed out for him. No one knows how this will turn out until the wheel stops spinning.

 

Personality: There are two sides to Simon's personality, treat him as an equal and he will treat you as such, in this mindset he is calm and laid back, he can be oblivious at times and wanders into things he doesn't understand, but hey, you win some, you lose some. However, Treat him as a lesser and he recounts THAT day, he becomes mentally unstable, smiling with bloodshot eyes, tears falling down his face as he tears apart the poor fool.

 

Deck: Simon's deck includes luck based cards with fun games (and some that are more demented), and weak level monsters with hidden abilities that could easily trash the competition if used the right way.

Okay, let's give this a shot, my first RP character so constructive criticism is welcome.

 

Name: Kassyl

Gender: Male

Age: 20

Tarot Card: The Magician

[spoiler=Biography]Ever since he was a child all Kassyl wanted was to make people happy, he trained day in and day out to become the best magician in his kingdom in order to be allowed to perform for the royal family. After 10 years he managed to gain audience with the princess, only to witness an invasion by a legion from one of Zadicus' many kingdoms. In less than a week his peaceful sovereign state had been toppled and Kassyl had been left homeless and worse still, without an audience. So with only the clothes on his back, a few coins and some parchment he left to travel the realm beyond what he knew, begging and stealing at first but quickly gaining a reputation as a performer. That was 2 long years ago, but when he heard of the 21 tablets he knew this wasn't a chance he could turn down, he had to acquire one so he could bring peace and joy to a world which had lost its way

 

 

[spoiler=Personality]Kassyl is usually rather absent-minded, often deep in thought as if walking through a dream. But when the spotlight falls on him is when he comes to life. Engaging and amazing the audience is all that matters to him and, he is an entertainer first and foremost. If his audience payed for a performance and that's what they'll get.

 

 

[spoiler=Deck]Kassyl's deck is based on dreams and magic shows. It primarily consists of spells and monsters which seem to defy all logic, slowly draining away his opponent's strength and the audience's grasp of reality as they summon and re-summon continuously to power-up from the opponent's strength.

try adjusting his personality or backstory to mesh better with the meaning of the wheel of fortune, possibly focus on the idea that much of life is outside your control (which you show very well with his deck strategy) and that all that is good as well as bad passes with time. there also seems to be an issue with the song links, it just sends me to youtube not the video it's self

Does that mean we need to construct and post our complete decklist before the RP starts if we're using cards that aren't in the real game?

you don't need a complete decklist, just post any custom cards so that everyone else knows what they are, here's an example of mine from an RP, i made a separate thread for the cards then put a link to it in my application (https://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/topic/351146-the-machine-that-duels/)
