Cool Physics

The physical engineering of many thing we've created are pretty amazing, but not appreciated enough

The idea of this thread is to kinda showcase some of the stuff we've been able to do over the years

This is what happens when a golfball hits steel at 150 mph

Now, to clarify, this IS a golfball, right? I know I've seen squishy stress balls that look identical to that, so I'm not entirely sure if these gifs are legit or japes

You wanna see cool physics?

I once reflected a .50 calibur round off the back of a steel girder.

It bounced and slid into the grooves of the girder, never losing momentum.

The girder deflected the shot into the air, about ten miles high.

The bullet traveled back down to Earth at about the same initial travel speed.

I ran my ass over to the trajectory point, and loaded the damn thing back into the barrel.

Then I assassinated Hawkeye with it.  Those are cool physics.
