Gosunkugi
Hi a little about myself:I stopped playing Yu-Gi-Oh around when Xyz summoning became a thing. I have recently become interested in card game design and wanted to start off designing with something familiar! I have never posted in forums before and I am looking for some constructive criticism on my designs :-)
LordCowCowCowCowCowCowCowCow
Heya hope you have a good time!A warning. We're doing a Halloween event so if you see "Monster" members don't worry it's just part of the event :)
Gosunkugi
Thanks for the tip S.S. Showdown Before I made this post I was browsing around and found The YCM Halloween Masquerade 2016 post and was like what's this... Now I kinda know!Wow I realize that your name is Sage Cow now not S.S.Showdown!
Aix
Well, good thing our custom cards section is still somewhat there... I think. I haven't looked at it in months, dunno what I'm still doing on a cardmaker site. Anyway, welcome. I thought you were going to be a monster at first, cuz they tend to spam the Intro section once they're let off the leash.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
CC is still around, Aix, just that any changes are usually being done on our own and I'm still doing daily patrols on the place when I get on. That, and I have to manage Season 15 of Leaderboard since Striker failed to leave any note of what to do if he's to be gone for a while. But those notes aside... Welcome to YCM, Gosunkugi.I'm Sakura, one of the moderators for the Custom Card section (and technically the one you'll see most often). If you post in Custom Cards, please make sure you take a look at the requirements for both sections. While the rules are more/less the same, there are differences between the two, albeit small things. I also must note that you will be critiqued based on design interactions with other cards in a competitive state, especially in Advanced. Now, I know that a lot of new members aren't really familiar with the metagame or wish to look at it, but it's important you can design cards properly. There are some guides in both areas that should help you out, or you can ask one of us. Also take a look at the general site rules; most are common sense, but do give them a read. ----Anyway, as Cow mentioned, we're in the middle of our Halloween event, so don't be alarmed if you see 20+ monster accounts running around on this site. You can differentiate them by their Halloween icon (where you'd normally see the user stars or staff logos). ----If you need help around, don't hesitate to ask me or one of my colleagues. CC-wise, you can ask Gadjiltron/Trebuchet MS or Black if I'm not here (I'm usually here daily, but you won't see my name on the online list most of the time) Have fun! :D
Bellringer Angel
Sakura-sama used ":D"..... Joking asides, welcome to YCM! Pendulum Summon is now a thing in Yu-Gi-Oh, so don't be surprised if someone suddenly Special Summon 5 monsters at once.
The Nyx Avatar
Hi a little about myself:I stopped playing Yu-Gi-Oh around when Xyz summoning became a thing. Well, I'm sorry to say, but they've introduced a new ttpe of card since then; Pendulum. Hi a little about myself:I stopped playing Yu-Gi-Oh around when Xyz summoning became a thing. I have recently become interested in card game design and wanted to start off designing with something familiar! I have never posted in forums before and I am looking for some constructive criticism on my designs :-)Good on you. Though, the site's got more to it than card making, so if you ever want to post something that isn't a card, there's a section for it in this site. Anywho: Welcome to Yugioh Card Maker. Enjoy your stay.
Gosunkugi
Thanks Sakura my plan for the cards I make is to post singles on Casual Card Design and after they get critiqued I'll post them in Advanced Multiples by archetype. Is this too spammy? What I want to do is make GX archetypes viable for competitive play! Speaking about competitive play thanks to ~nya~ for warning me about pendulum summoning. I have read the 9.0 rules and I guess 3 monsters turn one is the norm now now :-)
Flash Flyer - Sakura
I generally advise new members to start off in Casual if they're a bit unsure of competitive play (and yes, the current format is still nuts even after certain hits), then move on to Advanced when you've gotten a little better. You can retrain GX stuff for modern play, but a lot of them may need a total facelift to compete. In terms of SSing, it varies on the Deck like ~nya mentioned ~; some of them are capable of summoning a full field in one turn (and multiple ED / high Level spam). ----You can look around in TCG to see what's currently trending. The Nyx Avatar
Secret tech against pendulum summoning: Giant Trap Hole! ;-)Not much of a secret anymore. Also: Just a quick note for Advanced. For that one, you have to include design notes in your initial thread.
