The Highlander
TCG always gets the best exclusives Well it is better than that giant, which gets a mediocre Atk boost and thus is the best generic level 9 synchro (cloud castle does not count due to the setup) ... too bad it is not a Wind monster. The Nyx Avatar
So a Synchro monster with generic materials that allows you to recover the monsters from its cost? It's okay. Granted, I'd prefer to use Trishula. It may sound require more than three monsters to bring out, while this one could use two, but it's more about which one leaves a bigger impact and which you can bring out easier.Well it is better than that giant, which gets a mediocre Atk boost and thus is the best generic level 9 synchro (cloud castle does not count due to the setup) ... too bad it is not a Wind monster.True; this one having a removal effect (plus that banished card effect), while Giganticastle was just a beatstick. Althemia
yang zing metalfoe??? seems a bit better than chaofeng to just make without knowing the match-up since it can float back the jiatou you use to summon it
goodfusion
I'm SO happy this exists. I've been wanting a good, generic (1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuners) Level 9 Synchro for a while now, and this is one.
BlackBeartic
Seems like you could use this in Shiranui? You got Plaguespreader, Unizombie and Spectralsword as your costs. Though from what I hear extra deck space in that deck is tight so i'd assume a "maybe" option like this wouldn't really be used now would it. If not, it's okay at best, because it means you can use both Uni-Zombie effects in a turn and still make something. And plague just isn't good. Card is very solid for the slot, tbh. Slinky
Vermillion Dragon Mech is a Level 9 Synchro Monster with 2700 ATK. At Level 9 it’s perfect for the Blue-Eyes strategy which has an abundance of Level 8 Dragons and Level 1 Tuners. Blue-Eyes is very good at accelerating Level 8 Dragons into play to so they can combo off with huge Xyz and Synchro Summons, and Vermillion Dragon Mech plays a key removal role for the strategy beyond what Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon allows. Once per turn, by simply banishing a Tuner from your hand, field, or Graveyard, you can destroy any card on the field! That creates a one-two punch where you can blast something with Alternative, then Synchro Summon and blast something else with Vermillion Dragon Mech. they wouldn't mention this if it needed 2 non-tuner materials. Slinky
I know the 2 is there, I zoomed in myself. But Konami is heavily implying to summon it with level 1 tuner + level 8 dragon. It's pretty clear they intend it to be 1 non-tuner. the text is clearly a clerical error, like Hot Red Dragon Archfiend says "destoy" instead of "destroy"
Expelsword
Infernoids can make this very easily, but I don't think it does enough for them. Getting a Dekatron back to your hand is good and all, but you have to banish it anyway for a mere destroy 1. And that's not going to be worth the slot. Now, if it didn't target, that would be something noteworthy.
Βyakuya
Finally, a good Level 9 Synchro that needs only ONE non-tuner. *rips up Giganticastle*Yeah this is KoA's attempt at salvaging Blue-Eyes. Not a lot are topping, but even though it's still selling, they still get something like this, which is pretty decent in all ways. Uses Sage in the Grave and then retrieve Sage or White Stone after. Yang Zing can use this too but it's kinda slim considering you summoned Baxia before this and already did a board clear.

vla1ne
I could care less how good or bad it is, the art alone makes it worth running in any deck that can drop it, but if we're discussing uses, assuming it's 1T+1N-T, it's by miles better than every other level 9 synchro bar trish (and will still be easier to drop than trish in many cases) it's decent removal, respectable ATK, and can retrieve any tuners that might be banished via the first effect. issues being that it has to be destroyed by card effect, and we're in a format where banishing removal and 3K+ monsters are nowhere near uncommon. not the best thing since sliced exodia, but definitely worthy of a test run if you run a deck with a significant amount of tuners. on the other hand, if we're assuming 1T+2N-T, then mist worm probably beats it out. the cost is too high for the potency of the destruction, and the float is way too weak for the investment you're putting into it. it's still not trash, but it's not by any means reasonable to run it over mist worm (or even over cloudcastle in some cases) then again, the art... I can forgive the investment if i can drop something that beautiful onto the field.
Darj
Yeah, this is a more appealing than Giganticastle for a 2-material Synchro9 Summon. Still, I wish it had a higher ATK considering its Level of 9; I find funny how that leaves Giganticastle the role of beater.
Skullbriar
There's no point playing this card. It doesn't run over me, and though it can destroy me, it doesn't hurt my power for when I come back. Such a waste. And it's level 9, so making it requires more resources than it's worth. *smack*
