Fairy Tail – Cinderella

LIGHT Level 4 Spellcaster/Effect

(1) Monsters on the field cannot be targeted by the effects of Spell Cards, except this one.

(2) Once per turn: You can discard 1 Spell Card from your hand; equip 1 Equip Spell Card from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard to this card, but return that card to the hand during the End Phase.

"This card's effect reflects part of the plot of Cinderella: a fairy casts a spell (reflected in needing to discard a Spell card) to allow her to go to the royal ball, complete with giving her glass slippers (reflected by equipping an Equip Spell to this card). However, at midnight (the end of the turn), the spell is broken (the Equip Spell returns to the hand)."

Fairy Tail monsters in every booster pack are awesome. I love this.

So I'm gonna use a Normal Summon, pitch a useful Spell, then throw out Cinderella and an Equip to draw 2... and then what?

The problem with Cinderella is she has no home Right now.

Realistically speaking, Pendulums exist and it's prettt legit to draw cards in a pendulum decks.

The real issue with it is due to the fact that she's not easily searchable, so you can't consistently use her in that manner.

A card for a card, how balanced~

Even the same type, in a way. Also nice.

This first effect seems rather...odd, all things considered. It attempts to focus on Equip Spells, but prevents any monster other than itself from using them. Very selfish, indeed...

Much like many of you here...

It's a reference to the fact the glass slipper wouldn't fit anyone else.

She looks cute.

But cute is really as good as this card gets. Targeting protection from Spell Cards is rather minimalistic, if not very specific protection. Though, it does look like a better Hidden Armory, as you can access Equip Spell Cards from more than just the Deck AND still Normal Summon. Though, other than the already mentioned Bamboo Sword card(s), there's not a lot else (if at all,) that would warrant use for this card.

And how do all these Fairy Tail monsters even relate to each other? Nothing in their effects would suggest that they do.

Their only relation at present is that they are all fairy tales. While a deeper link between them may be possible with interlinking spells and traps, there is currently no reason to believe that they share anything other than their namesakes. Their effects as of yet show no signs of being a true archetype beyond mere name sharing. Even the "rose" and "Ice barrier"archetypes show more cohesion than this paltry display.

It may be possible to utilize them as one via Spellbooks. Though you will have to ask Elizabeth for advice upon the level of cohesion they could gain through utilizing the Arcana. and i doubt it would be worth it to attempt such a feat when they would be fa more effective when wielded individually.
