Wow. Speak of the devil. I literally just mentioned in the Crystal Bell topic that if this card got released, it'd need to be a Fusion substitute or override Summon Conditions. Then I leave that topic and see this brand new topic...with this card acting as a Fusion substitute.

 

...this is also more or less exactly what I expected of this card. It's a King of the Swamp that performs a Fusion Summon when SSed. It only works on specifically named Materials, which is a bit of a pain, what with so many generic Fusions being released these days, but it's a DARK, so you can at least use it with Starve Venom.

 

However, I'm actually suspecting that unless it gets some support cards to make it less awkward and more usable, I really would rather run random Polymerizations than this card. You need a means to SS it, which usually is a resource in itself, even though it acts as a Fusion Material AND a Poly.

Yeah i definitely would've rather had the rumored Retrofit Lanius.

This is never going to be played and yet they make this and the WW fusion that also won't be played.

Oh right, this thing used to have an effect to equip, and then prevent that monster from destruction.

 

...why the hell did they not give this that effect? It'd actually almost be worth running in their non-Fusion archetype Fusion-capable Decks.

You probably still can Starve Venom with this, since it's a DARK that'll be on the Field. Unless its effect is that it MUST be acting as a substitute to be Fusion Material, which would be really weird.

 

I think the Wind Witch Fusion is still solid enough, but I'm torn between whether this card should be run, or if you should just tech Polymerization.

I agree that it's probably meant to be the 2 effect, and I'm making that assumption until it's confirmed otherwise, because I don't think any other Fusion substitute has required you to use the Fusion substitution effect in order to use it as Material (although obviously, most of them were designed to use it, up until Fusions existed with Type/Attribute based Materials)

It's the curse of more generic Fusions. On one hand, major flexibility. On the other hand...Fusion Substitute cards become more and more niche and useless, unless they do more. King of the Swamp is still amazing because of its Poly searching. All the others...not so much. Ironically, the Dark Hex Sealed Fusion's Field effect is more useful because Starve Venom.

 

...yes, I am borderline worshiping a card that's not even that good.

We get that you feel slighted that your favorite smash bros character didnt make it in over Lucina, but Speedroid is in tbe right where the new Spell that special summons Parasite could bode well for future possibilities.

Seeing how they nerfed the funk out of this one, there's no guarantee that the spell will be untampered

And if that spell doesn't come out, I'll take back what I said. Without it, this card would indeed be too clunky to use (because it's Level 1 and you can't Pend Summon it)

 

However, the Eidolon Beasts look promising with this card to be sure
