Sanquil Posted October 4, 2016 Report Share Posted October 4, 2016 So a while back, my buddies and I decided to have a competition. The goal was to create a unique archetype with power and balance. Points were given for originality. Here is my creation: the Bodachs. What I had in mind for this archetype was a sort of swarm, burn deck that could survive some opposition. I understand some cards may need tweaking, and by all means, if you discover an effect that is on the stronger side, please offer your critique. All images are pulled from Google Images; if you know the artist of any of the images, please tell me and I'll credit them. (All spoilers are picture heavy) [spoiler:Lore]Many millennia ago, being of entropy and destruction, known as the Bodachs, wreaked havoc on the land. That is, before they were sealed away by mystical forces. Recent infighting has caused their seal to weaken, allowing the Bodachs to roam free once again. [spoiler:Monster]You cannot Normal Summon this card unless you control a face-up "Bodach" card. This card cannot be Normal Set. You can Special Summon this card from your hand if you control a face-up "Bodach" monster. During the End Phase this card was Summoned, return it to it's owner's hand and inflict 500 damage to your opponent. You can only use each effect of "Bodach" once per turn. You can banish this card from your hand to target 1 level 4 or lower "Bodach" monster in your graveyard; Special Summon it. During your Standby Phase, you can pay 500 Life Points and tribute 1 monster in your hand or your side of the field to Special Summon this banished card to your side of the field. If this card is flipped face-up during your turn, you can target 1 "Bodach" monster in your graveyard; Add that target to your hand. If this card is attacked and sent to the graveyard, during the End Phase, return the attacking monster to the hand and draw 1 card. If this card is Summoned, you can send the top card from your deck to the graveyard; Special Summon 1 "Bodach" monster besides "Bodach Caller" from your deck or hand. Once per turn, during your Main Phase 1, you can shuffle this card into your deck; Special Summon 1 "Bodach" monster from your graveyard. You cannot conduct your Battle Phase the turn you activate this effect. You can only use each effect of "Bodach Caller" once per turn. If your opponent controls a monster and you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). Once per turn, you can Special Summon 1 "Bodach Scout" from your deck by returning 1 "Bodach" card you control to the deck, but it's effects are negated. You can target 1 Set card your opponent controls for each "Bodach" monster you control; Shuffle 1 "Bodach" card in your hand in your hand to reveal those set cards. You can only use this effect of "Bodach Scout" once per turn. When your opponent declares an attack on a "Bodach" monster you control: You can Special Summon this card from your hand and, if you do, negate the attack and inflict damage to your opponent equal to the attacking monster's level x200. While this card is face-up on the field, you opponent must target this card for attacks. If this card is targeted for an attack, you can tribute this card: Negate the attack and, if you do, Special Summon 1 level 4 or lower "Bodach" monster from your deck. It's effects are negated until the End Phase and it cannot be destroyed by battle this turn. If this card is tributed to activate this effect, banish it instead. During your Main Phase, you can Special Summon this card to your opponent's side of the field by tributing 2 monsters they control. You cannot Normal Summon or Set the turn you Special Summon this card. During each of your Standby Phases, banish 1 card from your hand or graveyard or take 500 damage. You can Special Summon this card from your hand by banishing 1 "Bodach" monster in your graveyard. You can banish this card you control to add 1 "Bodach" spell or trap card from you deck to your hand. Return this card to the bottom of the deck during your opponent's next End Phase after this effect is activated. You can only use each effect of "Bodach Bogeyman" once per turn. [spoiler:Spells]Once per turn, you can target 1 banished "Bodach" card: Shuffle that card back into the deck. You can only control 1 "Bodach Traveller". Your opponent takes 200 damage every time a card is banished. If a "Bodach" monster you control would be sent to the graveyard, you can excavate the top card of your deck: If it is a "Bodach" monster, banish it and add the destroyed monster to your hand. During the End Phase, return the banished monster to the bottom of the deck. Target 3 "Bodach" cards in your graveyard: Add those targets into your hand and then shuffle 3 cards in your hand into the deck. You can only activate 1 "Bodach Return" per turn. Upon activation, you can pay 500 Life Points to add 1 "Bodach" monster from your deck to your hand. Otherwise, draw 1 card. Pay 500 Life Points: Special Summon 2 "Bodach" tokens (Fiend-Type/DARK/Level 2/ATK 1000/DEF 1000). If those tokens leave the field, inflict 500 damage to your opponent for each one. Those tokens are treated as "Bodach" while face-up on the field. [spoiler:Traps]Activate when a "Bodach" monster you control battles. Increase that target's attack by 500 for every "Bodach" monster in your graveyard until the End Phase. You opponent takes no battle damage from battles involving that monster this turn. If that monster battles an opponent's monster, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the target's Level x200. Activate when an effect activates while you control 1 or more "Bodach" cards. Negate and destroy it and, if you do, you can banish 1 "Bodach" monster in your graveyard to inflict 500 damage to your opponent. If a "Bodach" monster you control is destroyed and sent to your graveyard, you can banish 1 card in your graveyard to shuffle it into the deck instead. Once per turn, if this effect activates and resolves, you can draw 1 card. [spoiler:Extra Deck](OG Gril!)1 "Bodach" tuner + 1 or more non-tuner monstersThis card cannot be destroyed by battle. If this card is Syncho Summoned successfully, place 1 Omen counter on this card for every banished "Bodach" card. This card gains 500 ATK for every Omen counter on this card. Once pur turn, during your Standby Phase, you can place 1 Omen counter on this card if you control "Bodach Rift". Once per turn, you can remove 1 Omen counter to target 1 banished "Bodach" monster: Special Summon that target, "Bodach Snatcher" + "Bodach"If this card is Syncho Summoned successfully, you can banish the syncho materials the inflict 1000 damage to your opponent. Once per turn, you can target 1 "Bodach" monster you control: Banish it and, if you do, this card gains 500 aATK equal to its Level x 500 until your opponent's next End Phase. During your next Standby Phase, add the banished monster to your hand. "Bodach" + "Bodach" monsterMust first be Special Summoned by banishing the above cards (You do not use "Polymerization"). When this card is Special Summoned successfully, you can put an Omen counter on all face-up monsters on the field. Once per turn, you can target 1 monster on the field: Place 1 Omen counter on it. During your opponent's End Phase, you can target 1 monster with an Omen counter on it: Banish that target and, if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the banished monster's Level/Rank x 200. "Bodach Snatcher" + 2 "Bodach" monsterMust first be Special Summoned by shuffling the above materials you control back into the deck (You do not use "Polymerization"). When this card is Summoned by this effect successfully, you can banish "Bodach" cards from your graveyard: Place that many Omen counters on the field. You can remove 1 Omen counter on the field to target 1 Spell or Trap card on the field: Return it to it's owner's hand and, if you do, inflict 500 damage to your opponent. If this card battles a monster with an Omen counter on it, you can have it loose 500 ATK and this card gain 1000 ATK until the End Phase. (Cailleach, the Bae)3 Level 2 "Bodach" monstersIf this card has "Bodach" as an XYZ material, this card is unaffected by other card effects. Once per turn, during either player's Main Phase, you can detach 1 XYZ material to activate 1 of these effects:-Banish 1 "Bodach" monster you control and one monster your opponent controls until the End Phase.-Increase the ATK of all "Bodach" monsters you control by 1000 until the End Phase. I plan on making a few more archetypes with their own twist to them. Along with them, more lore will be released (I already have them planned out because all of the archetypes are connected).
