Level 2 DARK Plant-Type Effect Monster
ATK 600

You can only use the (2)nd effect of “Predator Plant Sundew Kingii” once per turn.
(1) When you use a monster(s) with a Predator Counter(s) as Fusion Material, treat its Attribute as DARK.
(2) During your Main Phase: You can activate this effect; Fusion Summon 1 DARK Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters in your hand, monsters you control, and/or monsters with Predator Counters your opponent controls as Fusion Material, but you must use this card on the field.

Right, I forgot about Lonefire Blossom, but I'm still expecting a searcher for Predator Plants only.

If Yuya's (Sky Iris/Sorcerer/Monkeyboard/P. Call/Joker), Yuto's (Most of PK monster grave effs) and Yugo's (Terrortop) decks got a searcher, there's a chance for PPs as well.

C'mon Konami, don't fail me now..

This is an Ancient Gear Hound on crack and I already was pretty fond of AGH, Trump Girl, etc. These self fusion enabling monsters were a fantastic idea on Konami's part.

This card alone does a lot for the deck. As mentioned Super Solar Nutrient after Fly Trap or Squid Drosera enables some plays. Summoning this after using Predator Planter to get back something from the grave feels like a solid in-theme way to use Starve Venom. Also, the Super Poly effect of this gives the deck a way to get Xyz off the field now. If we get Violet Flash, this works nicely with its draw effect. Between this and Rafflesia and the fact we still have about 7-8 cards to go, I'm really liking this deck's potential so far.

Being a plant-based DARK deck already gives them a lot of indirect support and tech options. Like I'm thinking Evil Thorn could be decent here, it thins the deck, acts as SSN and Lonefire fodder, and gives appropriate fusion material for Rafflesia and Starve Venom. Dead copies in hand are Allure food.

This... this is just fantastic. It's a plant shaped like a frill-neck lizard, and... that effect is GORGEOUS! It instantly solves the need to rely on Poly, makes it stupidly easy to make Chimera Rafflesia (that 1 DARK mat makes SOOOO much sense now), and obviously goes into Starving Venom too. This... this is just so much amazing in one card it's insane. But then, it's not like there was a lot of competition to begin with. Either way, this is hand's down the best Predator Plant. You can also lol a lot by using Miracle Fertilizer over Predator Planter.

EDIT: Actually, now that I look at it again, I don't think this thing actually uses itself as a fusion material, but instead just to instigate the fusion.

EDIT x2: Oh wait, the Org has updated text.

(2) You can Fusion Summon 1 DARK Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, by sending monsters from your hand/and or field, and/or monsters your opponent controls with Predator Counters, to the Graveyard as the Fusion Material including this card.

Yeah, false alarm on my part.

You know what would be fun with this deck? A Chimerarech Overdragon-esque Predator Plant, something like 1 Predator Plant + 1 or More DARK monsters. It'd act as a potential field wipe + game ender after a Squid into Sundew play. Feels appropriate for Yuri's style too and lets them do another GX reference.

Sounds interesting, and would make a lot of sense.

Botanical Girl, Lonefire Blossom (and thus soul charge as well), Rose Archer, Spore, Super Solar Nutrient, Miracle Fertilizer, Mark of the Rose, Pollinosis, Allure of Darkness and the Virus series (most notably being crush card and eradicator).

Edit: As well as DAD.

Either way, this is hand's down the best Predator Plant. You can also lol a lot by using Miracle Fertilizer over Predator Planter.

1.) I would count it as one of the best, considering chimera is similarly amazing, considering its materials and effects., however you might be right, considering it is a strictly better A.G. Hunting Hound and the impact of that kind of design, though rafflesia's design is almost the same.

2.) Planter however does not expire after its targets being used as fusion material, though I would say both are usable and fertilizer is mostly a monster reborn for sundew kingii.

This card opens up so many doors! Really liking what this spells out for the future potential of Predator Plants. A lot has already been said on it, so not a lot more I could add, but I really am liking where this is going. I think the key now is to get this card + DARK on the field consistently enough and from there you have a Deck. Also not sure how relevant this will end up being, but it is cute to note that summoning a Predator Plant, activating a Super Solar Nutrient to summon this, then fusing afterward sets up 3 DARKs in the Grave.

Yeah, the Japanese text confirmed it used itself, Ark was just unsure how to word it so I suggested that reading to him.

Also, now you know why Planter has to negate effects.

Rose Lover might make a good tech also, bring it out via One for One (which you'll run if you decide to add Bulb and Spore) or Lonefire and it's basically a one-turn from hand Predator Planter that you can ditch with Super Solar Nutrient (which I'm convinced will be really good in this deck) that doesn't negate effect, leading to possible big plays.

Oh, this is vicious. It makes you able to Super Poly your opponent's monsters for either Starve Venom or Chimera, and also treats them as DARK.

This will definitely help Predator Plants with their Fusion plays. The real trick right now is not about this card itself, but more the placing of the counters in the first place.

because of this card, i will tech one shaddoll monster, just to throw out a random winda lock at people from time to time.

solve fusion problems, it's essentially free removal if there's ever a way to throw predator counters around (via spell/trap), will easily turn dead hands into fusion fodder. helps combo with shaddolls if there's ever a reason to mix them. it's a solid card,

if the rest of the plants are this nice, we've got ourselves a playable archetype.
