Since it's been a while since we discussed these, and I don't think we ever discussed Ultimate with its full effect known.

 

Double

 

 

 

• "Ancient Gear Hunting Hound "
• "Ancient Gear Hunting Hound "
• If this card attacks, your opponent cannot activate Spell/Trap Cards until the end of the Damage Step. Once per turn, during either player's turn, if a monster(s) is Normal or Special Summoned to your opponent's side of the field: You can place 1 Gear Counter on that monster(s) (max. 1). At the start of the Damage Step, if a monster with a Gear Counter battles: You can destroy that monster.

 

Triple

 

 

"Ancient Gear Hunting Hound" + "Ancient Gear Hunting Hound" + "Ancient Gear Hunting Hound"

• OR "Ancient Gear Hunting Hound" + "Double Ancient Gear Hunting Hound"

This card can make up to 3 attacks on monsters during each Battle Phase. If this card attacks, your opponent cannot activate Spell/Trap Cards until the end of the Damage Step.

 

Ultimate

 

 

 

• "Triple Ancient Gear Hunting Hound" + 
• 1 "Ancient Gear" monster
• 
  
• When Fusion Summoned, your opponent's LP is halved. This card can make up to 3 attacks during each Battle Phase. If this card attacks, your opponent cannot activate Spell/Trap Cards until the end of the Damage Step.

 

So given the way Chaos Giant was changed, it's probable that when they release these (which is basically a given at this point) they'll likely be buffed. As they stand now, are they worth making at all?

Ultimate is, Double maybe, but Triple isn't. Unless you USE a lot of ATK buffs Triple's 1800 just won't cut it unless you plan to attack directly with all 3 attacks. And even then Ultimate does that better since it'll at lest OTK.

I'm really wondering what they'll do if they print Ultimate.

 

Halving LP on fusion seems a bit cheesy. It doesn't have the piercing capabilities of CG but it still seems a bit ridiculous.

My guess is it'll be Must be Fusion Summoned with above materials or something, They likely will restrict it seeing as you can currently King of the Swamp it.

Ultimate is hella worth it, but it needs a way to cheat summoning Triple since it's so ass.

Double might be worth it since it's so cheap to summon relatively, but that stat hurts my soul.

On monsters huh? Then yeah, Triple straight up ain't worth the effort.

Also of note is that Double means you can use Instant Fusion to get another "Ancient Gear" monster.
