VCR_CAT
http://www.vox.com/2016/9/16/12931962/future-sex-reproductive-technology-ethics-ivf Abortion and Same Sex couples having kids might be solved sooner than you think I've got mixed views on this sort of thing, so I'll go at them one at a time I guess. On the positives end, this helps reduce the possibilities of genetic disorders or complications for children before they are born, which is fairly revolutionary considering child birth today and historically. It even gives couples who would have been previously incapable of having children (due to sterility or complications) the opportunity to not only have a child, but a child that really is of their own, and being able to experience something they may have written off as impossible would be incredibly significant for these people. Unfortunately, I can't see the idea of being able to modify your child's genes beyond health reasons being something that's going to blow over well in our culture, and might not be accepted for quite some time. Of course people will still have the ability to choose to have a child through more natural means, but there will be people that will not accept it being a practice at all. And, an overall concern is how this may affect humanity in terms of potential genetic disorders or new diseases that could arise from these practices. There's a lot of danger of things going wrong, even if it means inexplicably every child born from this procedure is now sterile. There's a lot of grayness in how safe this procedure would be and what it could mean for the babies born from it that I'm not comfortable with unless it's tested to the nines, but the testing for this is also a gray area because (I mean they should) it could mean seeing what kind of life a child born from this procedure has. It means bringing a child into this world as a scientific experiment, and while the parents may be on board with it, the child can't get a say and it just becomes a bit of moral mess. Unpopular opinion I suppose, but there are a few reasons I'm not in support of same-sex parents raising children on their own. Primarily, it has to do with how it affects a child's growth. Having both a male and a female parent are really important for a child's psychological development, and removing one or the other from the equation has significant effects on who that child will grow up to be. In terms of whether this would be legal or not, there's not much I can say to it because I don't believe I have the right to force my own moral ideals on others through laws and regulations across an entire nation (beyond the obvious crap like murdering is bad, don't do that); but either way it's not something I'm in support of.
