Where In YCM Are You?

Thought this could be a fun topic, maybe not enough for General but unsure.

 

Basically, where do you go in YCM? What sections/threads most often? Where do you avoid?

How active are you in the areas you go to? And why do you go to them/why don't you go to other places?
How much do you actually read through or do you skim/skip a lot?
Do you read statuses?

 

Obviously these aren't all the possible questions for this but it gives some idea.

The sections I go to most often are the Custom Cards sections (Advanced Cards/Multiples, Casual Cards/Multiples to be more specific). Usually threads with generated cards, but there are times I'll look at written cards, whether they be out of obligation or a single (my only exception being a Destiny HERO thread). And of course, Miscellaneous (and Games, I believe). TCG/OCG card Discussion at times; usually on new releases. On rare occasions, I pop up in General, but that's only when there's a topic that I actually like. Otherwise, there's nothing investing (for me) to jump into. Though, the one section I've never touched is Roleplay.

A bit of CC, TCG and Misc, but mostly nowhere.

 

CC less now because there's no more DP activity. TCG mainly for product news and leaks, and for the rulings thread. Also some MtG stuff. And Animu & Mango and Clubs & Organisations rarely. I do read statuses, all that I am notified of and ones on the front page that catch my eye. I don't avoid any part of the site, except maybe General/Debates. Stuff like Music I'm just not interested enough in to ever visit, but I've considered RP. Just haven't got to it yet. Graphics is cool, just can't make any myself, and I have no requests of my own in mind, so I don't have a reason to frequent it. If a thread has an interesting topic I'll read through it as long as it's under 5 pages or so.

 

I'm active-ish on the Discord server and quite active on the Casual Club Skype chat, but I've gotten rather inactive on the forums lately. I only make like one post a week.

For the most part, I never leave RP and Misc. Those sections give me what I need in a forum - RP for a creative outlet, and Misc for mindless fun - and I'm pretty happy with what I've got going for me hanging out in those sections. I post in RP somewhere between regularly and semi-regularly, and Misc is just whenever I feel like it. I also read statuses, but very rarely make my own. The other sections I pop into from time to time are Introductions when we get new members, Showcase when I splice, and if there's an event I'm interested in, I'll show up in News for it.

 

As for sections I try to avoid, General is interestingly one of them; this thread is one of the rare exceptions. I try to avoid this section and Debates because I don't have much interest in news beyond picking up word of it, and me trying to debate something is either very passively trying to resist for a couple posts before giving in or accidentally going full toxicity. There is no middle ground for some reason. CC is a barren wasteland as far as I'm concerned and I don't really enjoy cardmaking, the places in Multimedia I don't know why I don't hang out in, and Games I'm not too interested in. Whenever Polls gets a tournament I'm interested in, I'll also go there.

I tend to hang around the statuses as well as Misc, Debates, and General. Sometimes, though, I like to venture into other subforums for a switch-up.

Mostly around in CC, Intros, Q/H (all my forum assignments), but can be found in the Pokemon threads in Anime/Manga and Video Games, the AGM club and my GFX shop. Oh right, and sometimes Polls if I'm running/participating in the GPT. (I technically go in most of the areas, but I don't always post in a few of them). I read everything in my section and whatever topics I'm interested in. (Going to try being more active in Showcase)

 

I tend to avoid Debates due to the atmosphere at times and Other TCG because I don't play other CCGs that are common here.

 

Usually don't read statuses, unless someone writes on my profile or things that I need to make a remark on.

I used to go in Games, but it's been quite a long time I didn't visit this area... Now I'm more in Graphic Showcase (when I'm active)...

Clubs & Organizations, Role Playing, Creative Writing, Other TCG, Other TCG Decks, Duel Portal, News... don't ask me why, I don't know myself. :/

Graphic Showcase is the only part of YCM where I take care not to miss a single topic, tbh.

CC when im bored or when i want to post cards, General/Miscellaneous when something pique my interest, sometimes TCG sections when there's something new related to YGO, also back then DP/2099 sections when im still there. I dont have any sections to avoid.

 

Back then when i was a new member, and like most new member, active in CC sections. But not right now due to busy with real life (next year i'll graduate from high school > college stuff, and a bit of depressing family issues). By then, i'm not sure if i still playing games or even still here, because i want to focus with my future. I go there (CC Sections) because . . . thats basically the only sections i can post, as other's sections im not familiar with it . . .

 

Read a lot, rarely skip tho. And yes, the first time im online, statuses is the first thing i see/read.

 

Outside YCM, i dont have any other forum nor website, but i always (mostly) online at Skype, especially at Dova's Casual Club, because that's where . . . for the first time enjoying being a part of a group (because i tend to be alone, rarely talk irl, anti-social if you may say it). YCM as overall isn't bad either, a lot of unique members and most of them are nice/kind, so thx for those nice/kind members.

I'm only really active in the Multimedia section nowadays to talk about anime and video games. I'd come into General too, but it's kinda sucked for a while now. also i secretly miss when clubs was like a bunch of skype threads

I do regularly check statuses, but I only comment here and there.

i reside in debates, misc, and general for the most part, although i'm not too active at the moment. i don't avoid sections per-say, but i guess i stay out of showcase more consciously. i like drawing, and i'm no slouch at video/photo editing but i'm shy about my work, and won't post something if i don't think it's perfect (which is why i still haven't posted half my custom cards)

 

as i said, i'm not too active, but once i post in a topic i tend to participate as long as possible. i don't really go anywhere else, but that's just because i don't feel like it atm. i'll branch out every once in a while, been thinking about dropping into RP section, but not for a while.

 

i read everything if i go into a thread, but i lurk more than i respond.

When I first came here back in 09, i used to frequent the Casual Card Design thread and I lived for Role-Play. Now I'm back i'm a bit of a lurker as well. But I feel like the Showcase is my calling, and i'll dwell around in the General, Misc sections fairly often as well. I read the recent statuses but rarely comment unless I have dank memes or funny jokes, or maybe even something that will contribute xD I'm going to have jump into the Games section soon though and hopefully the Anime section. Music thread is somewhere i belong too. I want to be able to go into the Creative Writing section more but I feel like i'm not good enough for it. I just like when people look in my direction though haha, I basically avoid the TCG thread like the plague. But i don't know why, i enjoy TCGs but talking about them bores me for some reason

I mostly go to misc or general now a days, I used to go to the casual custom cards but no longer do due to recent changes. I occasionally post in games, and probably will start doing more so soon. I do view debates but do not post due to a lack of rule enforcement but it appears that this is no longer the case now. Discussions are nice for general I suppose, and with misc I can be a bit creative like I used to with custom cards. i do read statuses.
