Optimized Extraction

Mana Cost: {2}{U}{G}

Enchantment

 

If you would get one or more {E} (energy counters), you get that many {E} plus one instead.

 

Whenever you tap an artifact or land for mana, add one mana to your mana pool of any type that permanent produced. Spend this mana only to cast artifact spells or activate the abilities of artifacts.

Whenever you tap an artifact or land for mana, add one mana to your mana pool of any type that permanent produced. Spend this mana only to cast artifact spells or activate the abilities of artifacts.

Goes infinite with itself and ends in the game in a draw. First ability should say "If you would get one or more {E} (energy counters), you get that many {E} plus one instead."

 

The card itself seems fine, idea-wise, although I'd probably move it up to 3UU to mirror Mirari's Wake, whose ability this heavily replicates.

Isn't this outside blue's slice of the color pie?

 

Energy is primarily a RG mechanic, with a few in black. Blue just has a turtle. Honestly it would make more sense as a RG card. Red for artifacts, green for mana, both for energy.

 

Except that RG is traditionally an anti-artifact color combination, and this is a pro-artifact card.  Also artifact-exclusive mana has been a blue thing in the past.

 

So, if energy being blue is an issue, I'd prefer if it was mono-red, UR or UG, but definitely not RG.
